Chioma Toplis, a Nollywood actress has responded to critics criticizing Nollywood actors for abandoning their colleague Leo Mezie when he needed them.

The actor, Leo Mezie reportedly died on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 after he was recovering from a kidney transplant earlier this month after battling kidney disease for years.

After the news broke on the internet, Netizens lambasted Nollywood for abandoning their colleague when he needed them.

However, actress Chioma Toplis has opened up on the whole issue.

In her words;

“Leo cried Wolf when there was no wolf, when the real wolf came nobody came.

“This is for people saying that Nollywood didn’t help Leo when he was alive/ill. Or blaming Nollywood for his death.

“In 2016, money was contributed for his surgery including the huge some that Apostle gave him. He came to London with his then-wife for the surgery.
