Traffic and business in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State came to a halt today, Thursday, as commercial motorcycle (Okada) mostly operators reportedly of Northern extraction defied attempts to stop them plying the roads in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Wednesday directive.

Reports from that axis said that the Okada operators faced gun-toting police who had come to enforce the ban.

Shots were fired around Alaba Rago as the defiant boys faced police officers, apparently beating a retreat on foot.

Why can’t okada be registered with plate numbers that are subjected to renewal every 12 months with also a ridding license, that will be a huge source of revenue for the government or is it because they are abokiis so they should be subjected to different laws?

It was at ojo Barracks not Alaba Rago, it was not funny this morning. Police men and those Okada aboki men, there were gunshots.

Gist had it that the policemen at Barracks bustop police station were trying to enforce no Okada law given by Sanwo olu few days back
( which doesn't even affect oriade, Ojo and Amuwo LGAs in the first place ) and it seemed they saw it as a means of extortion which is possibly right because those policemen at Barracks are something else.

It degenerated and it became a shit show, gunshots from the police, stones and sticks from the aboki.
