Russia is not the one losing lands, cities, towns and villages. Ukraine have already mobilized four times while Russia is still using it's old forces. Whether we like it or not, Ukraine is the greatest loser here.

That means the war is still raging.

Of course, the Iraq war did not end with the toppling of Sadam. Infact, it just began.

No takeover is complete if attacks can be launched on the invader. That's why occupation is more difficult than invasion. Putin's goal was to remove Zelensky and install a puppet who will use Ukrainian forces to quell Ukrainian resistance. His goal was never to occupy Ukraine.

That objective has fallen completely flat on his face. Now he has to use Russian forces to quell Ukrainian resistance in occupied territories - a very bloody and costly venture!!!

Of course, there will have to be compromise in Eastern Ukraine with some parts being pro-Russian.

Afterall, for 8 years, the Ukraine Armed Forces could not successfully crush the rebellion that sprang up there when separatists declared independence in some areas - about a third of the whole Donbas region.

Baltic states have massive Russians, that even EU turned blind eyes on what Baltic states are doing to Russians there.
Russia government have sent warning to EU many times as Latvia, and Estonia having be trying to ban Russia language for years even when around 30% - 40% of their population are Russians.

Non of Russia objective failed because the only true aim was to deter nato from coming to Ukraine which has been achieved since.

NATO laws don't allow them to bring in nations that are at war and that are fighting over border.

Without this war Ukraine would have been a nato member and in the future have it own nukes...

No! Non of Russia objectives have failed so far. It doesn't take Russia anything to reduce Kiev to rubble if their aim is to topple Zelensky regime. If you're very keen and have not allowed Russophile beclouded your objectivity, you would have understand that the two aims of Russia sending troops to Bucha near Kyiv is to pressurized the government of Zelensky and to keep the Ukrainian troops in Kiev down so that they won't be transferred to reinforced other areas of contention like Mauripol, Kherson, Kharkiv etc. That way, the Russians won't have to deal with large troops at once.
In fact, it was a successful strategy but to me, the only failure I've seen so far is the fact that the Russians were not successful in convincing Zelensky regime to the dialogue table.

At the beginning of the war Russia tried bombing Kyiv to rubble as you are suggesting but lost many planes due to Ukraine's superior air defence systems.

All mobilised Ukrainian troops are not fighting at the same time. Russia are easily replacing their decimated troops at the frontlines from those back home in Russia. Russia is struggling to maintain 200k troops in Ukraine and cannot afford to do more.

Lost towns and villages are still being contested. Mariupol is the only city that has completely fallen for now. And it's only for a while. The Ukrainians are advancing from Kherson.
