I drive a 2000 Ford Explorer (auto transmission) that I got about 3 months ago and am wondering when I should change the transmission oil. When I changed the engine oil recently, the mech said I didn't have to change the transmission oil or even top it up. There's no prob with the transmission, but am more of a preventive person so would want to know anything I can do to maintain my ride. Any ideas pls? |

Transmission oils are to be changed every 12,000 miles (averagely). The last time your present oil was change is unknow, so try visiting a specialist to know the status. From the odour you get from the oil also, you can know but your safer with a specialists advise. Kind regards. |
