What I observed over decades in Nigerian politics. The following will interest u to know:
1. The unpopular candidate becomes the most popular overnight when endorsed by the ruling class irrespective of his or her acceptance by the majority and the Nigerian populace
2. Only a few people (less then 0.5%) decides for the whole country. whether the other 99.5% accept it or not is not an issue anymore
3. Who the majority of the masses want, is not always the person they see on the ballots
4. Money plays a vital role
5. The politicians, there sponsors and cohort show more love during campaigns
6. The old ones who have accumulated much wealth through whatever means, are still holding the country hostage politically.
