Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has been arraigned for murder.

He was arraigned on Thursday 26 of May, 2022 at the Federal High Court Abuja on 23 counts of murder.

It's a second degree murder....penalty is 20 to life in prison....if he can afford a good lawyer he will be out in 2 to 5yrs with a plea deal.

1st degree murder is premeditated murder, that is you took your time and effort in planning and executing the murder....First degree murders are usually death sentences....eg mass shooting, armed robbery, kidnapping that resulted to killing the victims, etc....2nd degree are spar of the moment murder, you didn't plan it, although you hate the person but the killing just happened...eg....stabbing during fight, domestic violence leading to death, they usually carry 20yrs to life imprisonment...while 3rd degree murder otherwise know as manslaughter is unintentionally murder...eg car accident resulting to death, negligence leading to death etc....these ones carries either huge fine out of court settlement to the victim family or jail term of between 2 to 15 years
