The post of VP isn't much. Whoever the VP is will only do whatever the President asks him to do. So to me, the important thing is for the President to come from the South. Not the south occupying the VP slot for another 8 years!!

Atiku will lose because the north can't eat it's cake and have it!. Let the north also think of being in the VP seat. Simple

It will still boil down to who these Northerners pick as VP.

If I am Obi, I'll rather lose as a presidential aspirant than as a VP. He deserves better. I'm glad he saw that and left.

As it stands PDP will only select a running mate after APC Presidential primaries in the sense that if a South-Westerner emerges as the APC flagbearer Atiku might consider Governor Makinde as his VP. Otherwise in terms of strength and ability to garner votes these are most likely from strongest to weakest options:
1) Atiku/ Gov.Wike
2) Atiku/ Gov.Udom
3) Atiku/ Senator Chimaroke Nnamani
4) Atiku/ Gov.Douye Diri
