In case you don't understand what it means when you hear that StarLink has been approved in Nigeria.

Here's what they mean:

StarLink link is an internet service provider. It's a company owned by Elon Musk.

Yeah... That guy that has "potentially" been using twitter to chase clout and catch cruise.

Alright... Elon Musk's company has this way of distributing internet. Unlike MTN, Glo and Airtel, they don't need masts and wires laid in the ground.

They don't need to settle agberos to set up infrastructure for Internet distribution.

No, the pump it in directly from space and into your dish. Very similar to the way DSTV works.

Over the heads of all the kwarrupt people in this country.

So yes, it will work with Dishes and receivers but it will be a little bit more portable than DSTV. Elon has promised to shrink it and make it smaller to be carried in a car.

But it won't be some portable thing that will fit in your pockets. It's still big and it will serve offices and homes.

The internet is fast (currently it's offering up to 200MB/secs in the US). We don't expect anything less than 20MB - 50MB per second when we start using it here.

Which is hooooooge! Compared to the yeye 4G MTN and Airtel has been using to make noise on our heads wey no dey pass 2mb/sec .

We expect pricing to be somewhat of "Nigerian standard". If you read my post yesterday morning, you would understand this better.

So far... It would be a great option for people who consume a lot of data at a spot (either at home, work or streaming events).

Elon abi StarLink will probably give MTN a run for their money.

Serious run.

The interesting thing is that Amazon has joined in the race and they've started theirs.

Still another option. Be like very soon, the office MTN and others open on our heads unto data matter go just close forever.

And yes! New job opportunity dun open o! Go and learn StarLink dish installation now! Them no go teach you this one for school.

I love it. ☺️

The best part is, the more of you guys who port, the faster MTN will be for us who stay. I'll give this Starlink two years before I jump in. Nairalanders made noise regarding N[i]tel, where are those ones now?

God bless Elon musk, pls let him build the ones that can be used to monitor terrorists directly from the space though I know our government agencies who benefits from terrorism won't approve it.
