As the APC chooses a presidential aspirant for 2023, it should be guided by some basic principles and unwritten rules and laws.

Naija no bi Lagos would becom the theme of the sing-song on the lips of Southernes, just like Edo no bi Lagos. That is for sure and with that, APC will lose Southern votes. One year of such song would end APC little presence in SS, SE and NC.

Secondly, APC should distance itself from Muslim-muslim ticket. This is not 1993, any attempt at muslim-muslim ticket would smeel doom. If APC tries it, then the party will be buried even in the SW of Nigeria.

Thirdly, APC should never gamble with a muslim South and a Christian North presidential combination. If APC tries it, that would signal its death knell in the North. Northern muslims forbud two things politically, namely to be ruled by a Christian or by a woman.

Lastly, for an ordained Pastor to get votes in the North would herculean, party structure or not. The North would rather an atheist lead them than a pastor. South have no issues as such.
