If you knew the population of Christians in the North, especially the North Central, plus the entire South: which is largely Christian dominated in at least 13 states, you would keep quiet.

We have: Ekiti, Ondo (majorly Christian states) in Yoruba land, the rest 4 are 50-50 at most, the SE is 99% Christian dominated and despite their preference for Obi, so many are willing to vote for Osinbajo, the SS is purely Christian, so what are you all saying?

Religion aside, a lot of educated, well-meaning and non-politically partisan Nigerians don't even believe in Tinubu due to his corruption-related antecedents and also because he is ailing.

Osinbajo is the surest bet for APC.

Well said. I don’t see how a Christian and non partisan Nigerian in the south will vote for Atiku ahead of Osibanjo.
Pair Osibanjo with an influential northerner and you see people who were initially indifferent about the election troop out to vote.

Well right now it is an APC affair, President Buhari & his cabal in Aso Rock will select VP Osinbajo.

They have already agreed the positions he will cede to them Northerners when they make him President, number one position on the list, Minister for Petroleum, Budget & Planning, Minister for Agriculture, & Finance Minister, United States & UK Ambassador, Representative to OPEC & many more for starters.

Any vote that depends on illiteracy is already indicative of a government that would suppress the people for their selfish motives. We don't want such in Nigeria, amen!

PETER OBI
Peter Obi is good but his political popularity is NOT nationally based. He is popular only in Anambra, Imo and sparsely known in Ebonyi and Abia states. It is unfortunate that he cannot go far in the general election. This is the truth, and sentiments or wishes cannot change it.

Nawaooo. Seriously I am surprise and highly disappointed that Nigerians will still be talking about any raw material that moulded APC which have ruined the country Nigeria beyond incarnation. How much is US dollar, how much is petrol pump price and it's availability? Can we wakeup from day dreams and face realities? APC and whatever they are selling or represents is already a bad advertisement to business of Ask Rock and shouldn't be an option come 2023.
Sentiments apart, Atiku, Tinubu, Ameachi and conferees should relieve themselves from the duty of presidency. Buhari should be a big lesson to all and sundry. We are still licking the unhealed wound from yet to be concluded APC regime. Any other sound minded energetic and wise patriotic person can be considered regardless of tribe and religious background.

Not really so. Yemi Osinbanjo is surprisingly loved by the entire South over and above his former boss Tinubu and Rotimi Amechi ( regarded as a sell out). What the South needs is someone that can defeat Atiku in the entire south. The East and South South where PDP has its strongest base are not happy with how he bribed his way to get the ticket and are ready to vote APC in the next election (after all their arch enemy- Buhari is not running again). However these people would however prefer Atiku over Tinubu for obvious reasons; there is an unsettled enmity with Tinubu and Rotimi Amechi over their role in 2015 election, they cant just forgive these two men.
Osinbanjo however does not have the baggage of two men. He will also make serious in-road in Middle Belt- North Central where most non Hausa Fulani Northern minorities reside. This means that Osinbanjo can get West (his region), East, South South and North Central. If he takes someone like Zulum from the North East then he can slug it out with Atiku. So I give it to Osinbanjo

Same view.

So you want Osinbajo to be a Christian president?

Why emphasis on Christian's votes in a secular country like Nigeria. This is number 1 reason his emergence as president will lead the country into state of anarchy and war.

Is like most of you guys want a president that will take us back to Military rule.

So only Muslim northerners are allowed to chose extremist as our leaders? No region have a monopoly of madness.

Peter Obi or Amaechi; anything Igbo, should forget about presidency for now. I would have opted for Jagaban but the video clip of the way he was walking today, i'm not sure that man will last.

Yet they overwhelmingly picked GEJ over Buhari and Ribadu in 2011, una go just dey post nonsense.
Go and check the demographics of votes. The north alone cannot guarantee who becomes the president. They need the support of the East or West. Also, PDP controlled virtually all the Northern states at that time. GEJ took over from Ya'radua from the North. It would have been difficult for a northerner to succeed Ya'radua

Yes this is true but there's no way you're making anyone believe that a Yemi Osibanjo would gather more votes in the SW than a Tinubu. Religion or no religion, Osibanjo will be a liability in the SW unless he finds a way to pacify Tinubu and his machinery.

There are some factors against Tinubu and probably in favour of Oshinbajo
1. Most educated westerners see Tinubu as TOO old
2. Most educated westerners see Tinubu as corrupt
3. Most educated westerners see Tinubu as not supporting them in the EndSARS protest
4. Most educated westerners Hate APC for bringing in FAILURE into Nigerian economy and unity

1. Most educated westerners will vote for Oshinbajo rather than Tinubu because his brief take as Acting President exude some hope.
2. Westerners who hate to have another Fulani rule the country from PDP will either choose Oshinbajo or vote another party

Within APC is another matter entirely. If a consensus candidate is forced on APC, Tinubu will use his last energy to bring APC down.

Either way, Westerners will vote anyone between Oshinbajo and Tinubu except for the factors above.

The problem with the analysis is that the majority of Nigerian voters are either uneductaed or under educated. Juyst like most of us arguing on social media don't actually vote. Most of us cannot stand in line in hot sun or face touts or election day wahala. The real voters will 99% of the time vote based on who has the msot machinery/grassroot game. If Tinubu decides to play spoiler, OMO I fear Atiku will win in a landslide.

That was why I concentrated on voting pattern from the West. The West is not purely Yoruba (we have a large concentration of Ibo guys too in all our cities).

What happens in APC is the most important. Either Oshinbajo or Tinubu will give Atiku a serious fight. Religion will not help Tinubu however. The votes you should worry about is the South East and South South election. The eastern votes is a walkover for Atiku

I think the APC should be fair in dealing with Tinubu because he was a major force that made Buhari the apc flag bearer in 2014. As it is said the labourer deserve his wages so Tinubu deserve the apc's ticket in the fort coming primaries.

How I wish Nigeria youths would wake up from their drug induced stupidity and not vote for any candidate of both APC and PDP because it is clear both parties are the same group of past, present and future looters.

Let us at least for once rally around a youthful leader who mean well for us irrespective of tribe or religion...This old recycled leaders have been using tribalism and religion to tire down our destinies for too long, let's beat them to their game this time.

We have the numbers they need to win, we can decide who the next President will be with our votes and make it count to their shock...and if they decide to rig the election then the 2020 End Sars protest will be a child's play to what will happen in 2023.

NB.
If you support Tinubu because he is your brother and not because he is competent but just to spite an Igbo man who sadly too would prefer his brother Obi or an Hausa man to support Atiku because he is a Northerner, NIGERIA WILL REMAIN LIKE THIS FOR ATLEAST 200 YEARS UNTIL WHEN GOD FINALLY WIPES OUT THIS SENSELESS, IDIOTIC, TRIBALISTIC AND RELIGIOUS GENERATION.
