Are you afraid to die? I guess your answer is no! It should be. Death scares many people, including me (severe in the past). It scares us, holds us back, and makes us shrink away from life and its glamorous activities. It is pathetic and daunting that some people are sidelined from life’s activities due to their fear of death.

Others are; the fear of what people will say, fear of failure, and the fear of embarrassment. The notion, that people will attack you if you become successful (fear of success).

Fear of anything or death can lead to:

(a). poverty: here, fear of death will keep a person from pursuing his or her life's purpose, goals, careers, education, and aspirations. Such persons will continue to procrastinate until he or she starts to grow white beards. That is when they will realize that time is no longer on their side. Regrettably, they wish they could turn back the hands of time but it is a little too late, so instead of picking themselves up and acting right (doing what is virtuous) until the Lord decides to take them from this earth, they wallow in self-pity and curse the day they were giving birth to. As the fear of death gets bigger, they’d continue to shrink away from life.

Key Lessons: it is better to try new things or many things (works, relationships, making money, good health, learning a skill, studying hard to pass your exams and all the good things) than to shrink away from life because of the fear of death or what people might say. Remember, when you die, no one will be in the grave with you. You will lie down there, all alone till eternity.

You are going to die one day, it does not matter if it happened right now or in the next 200 years, it is still the same thing. Some of us will not even leave to 60 or 80, yes! That is the truth. Though, some people will leave up to a hundred and twenty (120) years. It doesn’t worth it when we fear death? Why can't we act the way we seriously want to act without attaching the fear of death to it.

You will remain destitute if your fear of death is enormous. That is why people run to pastors to pray for them to live longer. Rather than facing their problems (mostly regarding finances) and thinking of how to solve them, they would run to their pastors.

Some of these people pay money to these so-called pastors, in form of offerings, tithes, first fruit and so on, so that the pastor would pray for them to avert, prevent, or delay what is necessary and inevitable.

They failed to rationally think and accept the fact that, it is expedient for all humans to experience death. To stop being poor and destitute, you need to drop the fear of death and embrace life as it comes, master all the skills you have to master. Find joy in doing your work, love everything about your work, and work hard. If you are in school, forget about pleasure, study, and come out with flying colors.

With that, you are bound to succeed. And even if you don't succeed, you have tried your best. You have done what you are supposed to do. You have utilized and made use of what is in your control. You can feel confident whenever people say negative things about you concerning your career, hobbies, success or anything relating to your life. That thought alone will give you immense power. When you have power, you don't fear anyone and you wouldn't be manipulated. Make use of what is in your power properly and accept all other external stuffs as they come.

(b). Susceptible to Manipulation: Many people are being manipulated daily due to fear of death. It is easier to manipulate someone who is afraid of something compared to someone who is not afraid and fidgety. It is okay to be afraid sometimes. I'm not suggesting that you act like a Superman all the time, but know that fear of death will hold you back from doing most things in life (especially accomplishing your goals and heart desires). To get things done, you need to reduce your fear down to some levels.

Let's digress a little - I categorize fear into 2 categories (the one that affects most people) and how it can make someone susceptible to manipulation:

Fear of Judgment:

(I). Earthly Judgment and

(II). Heaven Judgment

Aside from being afraid of the earthly judgment, most people are afraid of the final day judgment. These two scenarios are likened to being afraid of what you did not see or what is yet to come. You don't know if it is true or not, but you are simply afraid - this kind of fear simply arises from what your pastor told you about heaven and hell.

The Bible and the Quran say that God will judge His human creatures on the last day. The Holy Book revealed that, after the judgment, if you are found pure without any single sin, you'd be given a space in heaven where you will endlessly worship the Kings of kings and the Lord of lords. There, you will enjoy immense peace and tranquility.

Unfortunately, the same Bible and Quran revealed that after the judgment and you are found with sin(s), you would be thrown into a burning lake of fire till eternity. You won't die, but you will continue to gnash your teeth and plead for mercy - day and night, but no one will come to your rescue. You’d literally be alone. No father. No mother. No siblings. No uncles. No aunties. You'd be left alone to burn in that lake of fire forever. If hell is real, that is what you might face on the last day, and going by my understanding of the Bible, I don't think many people will go to heaven. We all know ourselves. We all know our actions. We can't lie to ourselves. But we can use this as a motivation to live our lives to the fullest. If you can't make heaven, why can't you enjoy your ephemeral existence on earth simply by doing the right thing without being afraid of anything?

Why should you be afraid, when at last you will still end up in hell? Why would you be afraid, if you have convinced yourself that hell is not real?

Note: I'm not encouraging indecency. But my point is, do what you know is right without the fear of being judged, ridiculed, or mocked. Remember, you can die now or tomorrow.

Whenever I think back and remember my classmate, who passed away, not quite long after we graduated, I came to the realization that all human beings will die one day. RIP my good classmate. This boy was very brilliant; his performance every school session or year was always excellent. No one came near him in our class then, in terms of his knowledge, but look at where he ends up now - in the grave. What will you change about your life? What will you do now if you are being told that you are going to die tomorrow?

Fear of judgment will not allow you to try out the things you want to try out; it won't do you any good in the works of life. Even Jesus was criticized, but he did wallow in fear of what might come up next. If you want to go somewhere, you ought to eliminate the fear of judgment from your life. Those you are killing yourself for – some of them want you to progress and some don't. It is the way it has been even in the Bible. So why feel fear when you are embarking on an important task or project, after you might have evaluate the outcome and found that it would be beneficial to mankind?

Make use of your time wisely, life is ephemeral.

Op do you know your purpose on Earth? Cos if you do then I'd like you to educate me on how u did! Plus it'd mean u had a little idea of previous life lived..

To my understanding, purpose is what a person dedicate his or her life to, be it work, social life, dedication to a principle etc. It means different thing to people.

For instance, some people would say that their purpose on earth is to win soul for God, while for some is pursuing a career with all they have got.

Whatever you find joy doing. Gives you energy or what you pursue without looking back is your purpose.

You mentioned previous life, personally, I don't believe there is any previous life.
