Barcelona star Gerard Pique and his wife Shakira have announced to the world that their 12-year-old relationship has finally come to an end.

 It has been in the news over the week that Shakira has caught Pique cheating on hee with another woman, something that might have caused their breakup.

Pique and Shakira have been together for the past twelve years since they meet in the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

They both took to their social media handles to announce their separation.

They wrote;

"We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we are asking for respect for their privacy. Thank you for your understanding." 

The celebrity couple has two children, Milan and Sasha.

It is also reported that the woman Pique cheated with on his wife is Gavi's mother.
