How did you jump to this conclusion

Basically he's saying there isn't anybody that's colour white. Caucasians look more orange than actual white

The so called whitest person is said to even be an African or a so called black
You, sir/ma, do not get it. At all.

RACE is a CLASSIFICATION (Longman dic: the act or process of dividing things into GROUPS according to their TYPE). Ever heard the phrase "nominal realism"? Something is what everyone agrees to call it. I announce myself as black always but I know my skin colour is far from black. But my older brother's skin is actually close to the colour black. Yet, we both belong to the same GROUP: black. That is because "black" here is not actually a colour but a CLASSIFICATION, an IDENTITY.

Note that saying "Caucasian", "Negroid", etc. is just another form of classification, the one preferred by anthropologists and sociologists.

A pot-bellied Nigerian man would rather pay N20k/month to go to a gym and lift dead weight than pound yam at home. But na the same exercise and cardio. Being a big man in Nigeria means that you must do or eat things that will send you to an early grave.

Best Way to Start a Profitable Crayfish Business in Nigeria (2022) — For All Prospective crayfish Investors.

Discover:
1. where to buy wholesale crayfish in Lagos
2. types of crayfish in Nigeria
3. best crayfish in Nigeria
4. current price of crayfish in Lagos
5. biggest crayfish market in Nigeria

Hello investor, yes, that is what I prefer to call people like you who want to explore new opportunities in business and make more money. iwotago…hahaha

If you are thinking of what it takes to start crayfish business in Nigeria or maybe you just want to understand how some crayfish sellers in Nigeria run their crayfish business, then this article is for you.

In terms of profitability, I implore you to consider crayfish business. You can start crayfish business with little capital and make so much money. In this post, I’ll show you how to start crayfish business in Nigeria with little capital.

Before we go ahead, let us first “iron out” some major concerns here first:

Prospects for crayfish business — The question everyone needs to answer is how do I get customers?

That is the major concern of every investor:

who will be interested in my crayfish?

Who will buy from me?

where will I sell my crayfish?

What you need to understand is that since people are already doing this business, it therefore means there is a market for it. All you have to do is locate the market best for you and dominate. Below are some recommended markets for crayfish business which you can leverage on: Fast food; Hotels; Offices/Establishments; Online market places on Facebook, Instagram and twitter; Restaurant; Road side food vendors, market women.

And you might be wondering, How lucrative is crayfish business?

Crayfish is a business that can be started with a very low capital and overtime has the potential to turn the trader into a millionaire, this can be possible with hard work, study of the business and persistence. A trader has the ability to make up to 50% returns on investments on each bag sold, while the bags may vary in size and weight the calculation remains the same. As a 5 kg bag goes for 30,000 as at the time of publishing this post, the profit margin on each bag sold is within the range of N15,000 naira when you factor in cost of transportation and other expenses which you may incur. A lot of money can be made from the business especially when the crayfish is being sold in large quantities such as from 10 bags, 50,60 0r even 100 bags. With such profit margins, 100 to 150 bags of crayfish a month would turn you (the investor) into an instant millionaire.

In a country where 9 to 5 Office jobs and other corporate employment fail to provide the financial requirements to their day-to-day workers, side businesses or as some people will put it, side hustle have been the solution to the economic problem going on in Nigeria. Which is why businesses such as crayfish business is slowly becoming a norm in the country as the food business is one that can never be affected by economic drought.

How to Maximize profit in crayfish business:
For you to make appreciable profits in the crayfish business, you need to cut out the middleman and buy directly from the farmers or distributors even if it means traveling to their States or placing orders for it to be sent over to your location through waybill. You can use popular transport companies in Nigeria like GUO, God is Good, The Young Peace Mass Transit or any convenient one. You can also consider using the services of luxurious buses that move at night. Why you may ask. Because they are cheaper and can carry bulk goods at a go. Popular luxury buses are Chisco, Bonny Way and many others. This would go a long way in increasing returns and your profit. This is by far the only way to maximize the profitability of this business. As it would help you dictate your price in a manner that suits you.

Also, you can maximize profits by buying Crayfish in it’s Season in Nigeria.
The dry season which is from October to March (this might vary slightly though) is the crayfish season in Nigeria. However, crayfish is always available in Nigeria year in year out.

It might be in surplus or scarce but is always available. In the crayfish season, the fishermen from top crayfish producing states in Nigeria (Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Lagos, Ondo, Cross river state) catch plenty of them and preserve them by sun-drying till they crack when touched. You can also preserve crayfish by oven drying them but this method is not common.

So when it’s in season, you buy cheaper. But be careful not to buy more that what you are able to sell off immediately as you may incur losses especially if the crayfish is not properly dried.

So how do you get started. I know you are itching to get started with your crayfish business. But before you jump in, calm down and understand the rudiments first…hahaha

How to start crayfish business in Nigeria
STEP BY STEP PROCESSES ON HOW TO START CRAYFISH BUSINESS IN NIGERIA 2022

STEP 1: CARRY OUT A RESEARCH ON THE BUSINESS
One of the thing to do first is to carry out your own research. Ask relevant related questions. It will help you in the long-run. You were definitely making your own research when you bumped into this article.

Also, carry out market survey or feasibility study. One of the most important steps in starting a new business venture is to understand how it works in your area as well as consumer behavior towards that particular product. You may also ask those who have ventured into it before you for advice on how you can start the business and grow it without facing much difficulty.

STEP 2. Study the business/ Do a market survey
Don’t just jump into a business because you heard it is lucrative.

You need to carry out a thorough investigation to know exactly where to begin and how to run the business.

As for crayfish business, you need to find out the following;

The price of crayfish in the market
How much you need to start the business,
Cost of transporting your crayfish,
How to make as profit, where to buy,
Were to sell, and if you are to export, find out what it requires, etc.

STEP 3: GET YOUR FINANCE READY
Every business venture requires a starting capital and the same is applicable to your crayfish business. Once you have decided that this is what you want to do, then the next step is to make available the finances for the business so as to start as soon as possible.

Tip: You can actually start this crayfish business with zero capital. Yes, that’s a crazy idea, but true. Now lets break it down. Suppose your contacts already knows you and you already have buyers, then you can go ahead to get the crayfish to your buyer, collect your money, then pay your supplier and pocket the profit. Easy right? But you must have one very important trait for this method to work for you. You must be a person of INTEGRITY, as only then will you earn the trust of people and they can give you items on credit. IT WORKS! Just be a man of your words. SIMPLE!

STEP 4: GET A GOOD LOCATION FOR YOUR CRAYFISH BUSINESS

Although, this is not a must if you are just starting out and have contacts already. Your house can be your location.
But if you plan buying much, say from 10 bags upwards, then you have to look for a very good location for your crayfish business. A strategic location for your crayfish business can work wonders for you. Large markets are great places to look out for when you want to secure a shop for your business. Bus tops in your area or junctions.

STEP 5: FIND A TRUSTWORTHY CRAYFISH DEALER

In order to stay afloat and remain in the crayfish business, it is very necessary that you get a trusted dealer that will supply you with the particular type of crayfish you need to sell to your customers and ensure that they deliver to you in time so you don’t run out of stock. Also ensure that your dealer gives you stock at the right price.

Tip: Try and get more than one dealer o to avoid stories that touch. We are all humans. And we are bound to fail sometimes.

STEP 6: DISTRIBUTION OF YOUR CRAYFISH TO YOUR CUSTOMERS

This is the new era, and to stay in business, you have to do what others are not doing. As you want to start your crayfish business, you have to plan ahead. Strategize.

Some of your customers may not have the time to come to the market to buy your crayfish and as such, it is up to you to deliver the product to them at an agreed location. When this happens and they have placed an order, try as much as possible to deliver on time to build relationships with your customers. When doing this though, work with wisdom, never go to places that you are not sure of, or places you suspect are dangerous and if this is so, you can agree on another venue with your customer that you are okay with for delivery. Also you must not do it yourself, contract a delivery personnel. Customer just have to pay a little extra for the convenience taken off him.

STEP 6: ADVERTISE YOUR CRAYFISH BUSINESS

By advertising your crayfish business, you would be boosting your sales and equally ascend your business to the next big level. Lack of exposure for your crayfish business will subsequently, gradually lead to its extinction.

Harness the power of social media. Strategically make post in market places where your crayfish is needed. If you do it right, you might not even need to pay for any adverts. Word of mouth and organic reach is enough to get you the desired sales. “If your crayfish fine, people go look for you, na dem go de rush you…lol”

I don’t buy into some ideas that talk about using Tv, radio, newspaper, flyers and send bulk SMS, email. If you are just starting out, avoid this methods o, you will just end up burning your hard end money for nothing. My personal opinion though.

Try and build trust first, and every other things will be added unto you (Integrity Chapter 11 vs 5)

Other things you need to do to start a profitable crayfish business here in Nigeria is to:
Set your business plan:

A crayfish business plan is very important to your crayfish business especially if you are planning on investing huge capital into the business or you are planning on doing the business for a long time.

Your crayfish business plan will be written depending on the capital you have at hand or how big you want to start. Do you want to start as a wholesaler or a retailer or do you simply want to be an exporter?

All this will determine how the crayfish business plan will be written. You can write the crayfish business plan yourself or simply employ the skills of a professional business plan writer to do it for you at a price.

Register your business. Get a Registered business name
For more credibility, It’s very important to register your business with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as your it grows.

Doing this has a lot of benefits. Everybody might know you with a particular business name, for example Crayfilicious. But my dear, if someone else go ahead and register that popular business name of yours before you, sorry is your name o. Do the right thing.

Yes, you don't. You, like the other poster, struggle with the concept of CLASSIFICATION. Start from there. You think we should do away with it because of its arbitrariness and stick to descriptive naming only. I can't even tell you the chaos that will ensue in academia and everyday communication if we follow your approach.

No I don't think we should do away with it

What I think is that I have never seen a WHITE person in my life but I have seen Caucasians.
Basically I'm saying that the so-called white people aren't really colour white as many look reddish, yellow, orange than actual white.

And then the fact that there are actual so called blacks that aren't black.

There can be yellow, chocolate, brown, black Africans. When I see a very fair Nigerian I don't see a black man despite he's a so called black man

Likewise I don't see Caucasians as white

I don't know if we're understanding each other. Anyways we can agree to disagree since we can't necessarily change things by simply debating on nairaland

The fact is the so called white try to attribute everything good and pure as white. While attributing evil and negativity to colour black. Even though they the Caucasians have commited more atrocities in human history.

If a fair or yellow complexioned Nigerian person tells you they're not black it will seem like inferiority complex whereas they aren't actually black in complexion

What about Asians why don't we call them pink, what about Arabs and Latinos. The world is not black and white.
I see no reason we should be calling ourselves black race when we can either be Africans, afro etc which is more dignified. Not to say that black is entirely bad though
