ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
JOY COMES. PS 30:5
For his anger lasts only a moment, But his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, But joy comes with the morning. NLT.

Good morning dear friends. Happy Sunday and I pray that we will be filled with joy all the days of our lives in Jesus name. This morning, we will talk on; Joy Comes. We all know that there is a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness entail a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either as a result of what is happening at the moment or after the evaluation of one’s life. Joy on the other hand is a limitless and transformative reservoir of pleasure and happiness.

Joy is better than happiness, one may be happy at this moment and become sad the next moment. However, joy is not dependent on the things happening around us at a particular moment because it is God given. We need to understand that God wants the best for us, 3 John 1:2: Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. NLT. One of the best things he wants us to experience is joy because joy gives strength. Nehemiah 8:10c: Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the lord is your strength!” NLT. What blocks our joy from flowing is sin which brings about God’s anger. This may explain the reason why those who are not in Christ do not experience the flowing of joy in their lives. However, because God is rich in mercy, he does not stay angry at us forever. Infact, through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God has prepared a system of forgiveness and fellowship for every soul that says yes to the Lordship of his son. He uses this system to shower his favour on us which stays with us throughout our lives. Ps 30:5a.

More so, I believe that the system of mercy which God has installed for us which becomes new everyday brings new fountain of joy for his people. Lamentations 3:22-23: [22]The faithful love of the lord never ends! His mercies never cease. [23]Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. NLT.

On the other hand, since we have established that God gives joy, this joy comes from God through Jesus and the joy finds expression through the Holy Spirit who is given to everyone who believes in Christ. John 16:24: You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. NLT. Don’t forget that joy is one of the fruits the Holy Spirit enables by supplying us with everything needed to bear the fruit through his presence in our lives.

On this note, if you do not have Jesus as your Lord and saviour and you want to do so for your joy to be full, say this prayer with me; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and I will be your witness till the end.
