1.)*Dangote refinery's pipeline infrastructure is the longest in the world

The Pipeline Infrastructure at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is the longest anywhere in the world, with 1,100 kilometers to handle 3 Billion Standard Cubic Foot of gas per day

2.)*Dangote refinery is the largest single train refinery in the world

One of the major component of any refinery is the crude distillation column.. The Dangote refinery has by far the largest single crude distillation column in the world..
The column has a weight of 2250 metric tonnes; length, 112.5metres; width, 14.036m; and height, 13.752m;
The entire structure was manufactured by Sinopec in a record time of 14 months and took 8 weeks to be shipped from china down to Nigeria

3.)*It is the largest industrial complex in the Africa

.The Dangote Refinery complex covers a land area of approximately 2,635 hectares ..that more than 2x times the land area of eko Atlantic city and about six times the size of Victoria Island in Lagos..
There is no single industrial complex in the whole Africa this big in terms of land area..this makes Dangote refinery the largest industrial complex by land area In the whole continent of Africa..

4.)*Dangote refinery will save 40% of Nigeria's foreign exchange

The governor of the Central bank of Nigeria...Dr Godwin Emiefele has stated that Nigeria spends about 30% of it forex reserves to import refined petroleum products.. 5 percent to import polyethylene, polypropylene and other petrochemical products ..another 2 percent to import fertilizer..
By the time the refinery begins full operation ..Nigeria will move close to saving nearly 40% of it forex reserves.

5.)*Dangote refinery will be self sufficient in power generation

A 400MW Gas fire Power Plant is being built to fully power the refinery, petrochemical plant, fertilizer plant and other ancillary infrastructure within the Industrial complex..This means the entire industrial complex will not depend on Discos for power supply.

6.)*The Dangote refinery complex host's Africa largest petrochemical plant

A $2 billion petrochemical plant is being built along with the refinery ...It is the largest petrochemical plant in Africa and will produce 900,000 metric tonnes of 77 different high-performance grades of polypropylene.

the plant is expected to meet the demands of the growing plastic processing industries in Nigeria and globally.



7.)*The Dangote refinery complex host's Africa largest fertilizer plant

Dangote Fertiliser Plant is Africa's largest Granulated Urea Fertiliser complex. The plant occupies 500 hectares of land within the complex and was built at a cost of $2.5 Billion.


8.)*The products of the refinery

The Dangote refinery will have an annual refining capacity of 10.4 million tonnes (Mt) of gasoline, in addition to 4.6Mt of diesel and 4Mt of jet fuel.

It will also produce 0.69Mt of polypropylene, 0.24Mt of propane, 32,000t of Sulphur, 32,000tones of Sulphur and 0.5Mt of carbon black feed.

9.)*Dangote refinery will end fuel, fertilizer and major petrochemical importation into Nigeria.

This project will restore the dignity of Nigeria, a crude producing country that has for many years gone abroad to meet its demand for refined products.


10.) *Dangote refinery will cost an estimated $19bn

The Dangote refinery project was officially unveiled in 2013 with an estimated cost of $9bn .. By February 2021, the governor of the central bank, Dr Godwin Emiefele revealed that inflation has taken construction cost to at least $15bn ..By the time the entire complex including the refinery, fertilizer and petrochemical plant become fully completed in 2023..an estimated amount of $19bn would have been sunk into the project.
