Governor Soludo Performs Ground Breaking Ceremony For Coordinated Wholesale Center For Pharmaceutical And Allied Products In Oba.



The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has performed the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Coordinated Wholesale Center For Pharmaceutical And Allied Products In Oba, Idemili South local government area of Anambra State.

The ceremony was in accordance with the National Drug Distribution Guidelines.

Governor Soludo during the ceremony maintained that all the open drugs markets in Anambra will relocate to Oba on the completion of the center, including the popular Ogbo Ogwu market, Bridge Head Onitsha.

The Governor noted that the project is inline with the plan to build a livable and prosperous homeland in Anambra State.

Governor Soludo also said that the Oba International market will be revived to help form the ecosystem for a new technology driven smart city in Oba.

The Governor re-echoed that security of lives and property is top on the agenda of the state government, calling on the people of Oba to cooperate with the government in that regards.

Mr Uche Ezeh, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Coordinated Wholesale Center, Oba in his address noted that the project will enthrone an effective arrangement to control drug distribution network in the state and beyond, targeted at solving drugs and food related problems.

The Regent of Oba community, Prince Nuel Ezenwa, expressed the belief that the project on completion will bring sanity to drug distribution in southeast, create jobs and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state and Nigeria at large.

He assured of the support of Ndi Oba at the community level to ensure the success of the project.

The APGA Candidate for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu in his remark commended Governor Soludo for his firm resolve in ensuring that Anambra becomes livable and prosperous and assured of his support to make the project a reality.

At completion, the Anambra State Coordinated Wholesale Centre will have a perimeter fence, three entrance gates, 2516 standard shops, and 888 offices.

It will also provide for NAFDAC, Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, PCN and other regulatory bodies.

Other components of the center include, administrative building, Police Post as well as fire station.

Provisions have also been made for other infrastructure like, sewage and water treatment plant, external power with solar street lights, embankment and storm drains for flood mitigation, water supply distribution with overhead tank, among others.

In attendance were the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, Grand Patron, Anambra State Traditional rulers council and the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, representative of the National Agency For Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, that of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, among others.

The Youths of Oba rallied around Governor Soludo in solidarity as the Governor performed the ground breaking ceremony which climaxed the event.

they have no choice but to abide by the Law of Anambra state.
In civilized society you will not exposed drugs in high temperature you most have air-conditioning system in your show room.

And it will give NAFDAC the opportunity to monitor fake drugs of which killing our people daily.
