Osinbajo publicly asked CBN to stop artificially propping up the Naira only last year.

The below is why. Whilst you guys are complaining about current exchange rate, CBN spent 3 billion dollars in 2 months this year to even keep it from getting worse.

Does that sound sustainable to you?
I can guarantee you that alot of people on this thread never knew that apart from fuel subsidies, federal govts of Nigeria especially since the Jonathan presidency, had been responsible for artificially controlling the FX exchange rate. Many are oblivious of the fact that like the fuel subsidies, some of the payment mechanisms for this FX subsidy payments were based on promissory notes which even the next govt will have to inherit because govt as they say is a continuum. What people expect is, even when govts experience revenue shortfall, they are to find that revenue somehow and someway to subsidize the same FX, fuel, education etc. or else you failed. And when someone proposes increased taxation to supplement this revenue shortfall, they'll balk at it citing emoluments of politicians. You may even run into some dumb hypocrites who don't even pay taxes at all.

yesterday before I wrote this, I had withrawn as little as 300 dollars which came around 200k+ on my naira, I wanted to get a second phone for my IT tech work because my Samsung has been over used, so she needed a companion..

My budget was for redmi note 11 pro, as I reached the store 3chub, I went for the 6/128 variant, I payed 160k for it . Omo na there my first wahala started, they said that
1) that variant has finished
2) there in my front the price has changed and added to about 15k difference

I asked why they said dollar rise..

So I was given Option to be refunded, I said nah, I don come be say I don come, I went for the 8/128 variant which I paid 180k for.. after the payment, I was told the price has also been adjusted.. had to pay extra 15k for it too..

Why am I saying this.. yes I earn in forex, but man it's really shit because either way, it comes back to fvck me too because most of the stuffs here will be hyper inflated too

So later on, I was reminiscing on the fate of people that earns in naira..

1 minute silence for them
cry

Fact is, whether one agrees with banning or not, AbokiFX is part of the problem. Nobody can convince me that the US dollar- which is currently depreciating in value - is at the same time geometrically appreciating against the Naira. The open market value is exaggerated and AbokiFX is helping to promote this exaggerated black market value.

I just listened to PO's interview on Channels with Seun.
What does he mean when he says he can't disclose what he will do when he becomes president in terms of security, and that he promises he will be decisive about it?
Nigerians should trust that he has the solution and believe that he will implement it when he becomes president, just like that? Lmaooooooo cheesy
The rest of the interview was typical Obi, squakwa fiend, so no comments on that, I am just surprised that he added a new angle to his game, that's all. cheesy
Omo, Nigeria is bleeped beyond 2023, our supposed best option is not even that serious. I go vote Obi 2023, let's see if Obidients will be better at giving excuses than Buharists, looks like they speak English better.

but it's still a Nigerian that is bread out of the same system that will still climb the mantle of leadership.. or are we going to hire people from Cotonou?

It's still the ones that has been hovering around the system that will still end up there at the top..

I lost interest in politics when good luck Jonathan against all odds couldn't weather the storm when his last name and events which brought him to power were luck glaring.. from ascending and climbing to the top miraculously and mysteriously.. one would have thought all those charades and mysterious events which brought gej to power would have made way for a better Nigeria.. still yet his gorvenment was one of the worst security wise as bomb blasts was the other of the day even in Abuja..

Brother, any goddamn person can be the president of Nigeria, nothing much will add or change..

It's just like saying Afghanistan or Iran will become what they re not when so so so person ascends to power..

Most of our gorvernors and lawmakers attended the best of universities and tertiary education worldwide.. but Nigeria will always be Nigeria and Nigerians will always act as Nigerians.. it's more of a way of life that one has to accept.. no need wriggling and getting worked up over it..

I’m not even a big fan of any of these guys vying for power but you don’t reward failure with more time in power
How can you be campaigning to continue the good work of the dullard that has turned Nigeria to the poverty capital of the world
Australians just booted out their government and I can barely point to one wrong Scott Morrison did
Whoever will come will likely be bad, but in a public space where people are openly defending the rubbish happening… some of us have to call it as it is

I’m pretty sure you’ve not seen me say vote for anyone… but I’ll surely say don’t vote for the government that’s currently fvcking us all

Supporting Obi was a fad so many people joined cos it appeared to be the fashionable thing to do. But novelty and excitement can only carry you so far. When many of them calm down and take time to listen to their guy they will realise that his manifesto is one big, fat "Trust me bro".

Then someone would tell me to vote APC again? Even if dem put Kagame and Mandela for the ticket, I no vote

But if Tinubu leaves APC to say XYZ he will be votable but if Wike goes to APC he would be unvotable

APC as a party will always favour d cabals of d party and this happens to be d problem..

Tinubu is weak n shaky...he is not suitable for d post even if he competes under LP.

Wike under APC will still favour dsame cabals killing d country..

so both examples ain't suitable....

LOL, I dey the same boat with you.
I am neither obidient, Batified or atikulated.
I believe that they are all different shades of bad, but in the spirit of exercising my democratic rights, I will be voting Obi.

But seriously, can any obidient explain what is so secret about Obi's solution to security that he stated "but I won't be able to disclose it" about 5 times in the interview. And also the elephant in the room question Nigerians failed to ask Buhari in 2015, "why hasn't he shared the magic formula with the government?" (assuming there is one).

i think he said something about state policing .

also,i am in support of withholding some sensitive info.

just like his VC said...he can't really divulge some certain information they have come to realised.... ...

i think his VC quoted this on arise TV when quizzed on security....."The things you think you know are not".

Obi problem is trying too much to impress everyone with stats n figures.....

This is like repeating what has been said before, nobody is saying obi is a saint but the better candidate than the other two.

on Tinubu case
his party is cancelled
he's not healthy
his comment on exchange rate is off
his comment on recruiting 50millions is off
Muslim-muslim ticket not acceptable
he can't even guarantee live interview

on Atiku's case
He's not healthy too
it's not northern lokan to rule
his former corrupt cases(e.g $16b meant for power and others)

let's not forget both bribed delegates to emerge as their parties primary winner.

I must admit obi's awful in his stats, that's his flaw.

I rest my case
