Congrats to her. To be honest, I never dreamed that Nigeria’s first ever elected woman governor would be from the north; not just the north but a predominantly Muslim state.

Who knows, in 8 years time or thereabout, she may be a presidential front-runner

Binani vs Fintiri: Different perspectives on the Adamawa State gubernatorial election

From the religious and cultural perspectives, some of the ancient kingdoms in northern Nigeria were ruled by women before the advent of Islam.

However, the founders of the religion being short-sighted forbid women from holding leadership posts even though it's clear that we need more women to participate in Nigerian politics.

It'd be interesting to see voters in Adamawa, many of which are Muslims, elect a woman to lead them against the teachings of their myopic prophet and their cultural bias against women leaders.

Next time they say the local god from Arabia Allah is all-knowing, you'd know that an all-knowing entity won't put all leadership positions in the hands of men and forbid women from leading even though good leadership qualities aren't dependent on gender.

The Christian god Yahweh also exhibited the same short-sightedness like Allah in the old testament. Some people had to write a new testament in the Bible to correct Yahweh's mistakes and reform the religion.

Even the Nigeria stock exchange website dont have their presence. So, I would say No, they are not
