So GEJ removing subsidy was a lazy way out? Wow! |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 3:27pm On Feb 10 |
Emaprince: https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE84C08N/ Oil Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke has a conflict of interest by being both on the board of NNPC - a fuel importer - and the supervisor of the subsidy regulator, the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA). What would Peter obi have done ? There is a open letter MOMAN wrote complaining about briefcase companies during that period. I am still looking for the original letter To qualify for subsidy you had to have at least 500 stations nation wide, at least one tank farm. Somehow over 100 companies were granted licenses and paid for nonexistent cargoes Not overpaid, not inflated, paid for doing nothing. Rather than prosecute these 100+ beneficiaries of 1.5 trillion fraud , gej chose to resolve the issue by letting everything slide and sticking Nigerians with the bill. 1 Like |

This is a link to the investigative report by the hor in the aftermath of the occupy nigeria demonstrations. https://www.sahara-group.com/docs/hrr.pdf Thus, contrary to the earlier official figure of subsidy payment of N1.3 900% increase. 1 Like

BlueRayDick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyngj0M-LQk?si=X1OeOUW-v7G5yGID This reminds me of this scene. Do you concur ? The 'we were testing you na standard format' . One day I was at a school event and they asked for the hottest planet. Someone responded mercury and was praised . I however remembered that the hottest planet is actually venus and I called a teacher aside to correct them. Next thing they dropped the gotcha. Hottest planet is venus we were just testing you guys |

[quote author=LordAdam16 post=128384211] CNG/LPG is the energy source of choice for transporters in places like India. You're the one who said there's no ameliorative measure that could be enacted. I suggested one that has been implemented successfully in peer countries and you're asking about the impact. This is one example. How about opening the borders or reducing import duties on essentials for a limited period? Cumulatively, don't you think these measures would have softened the blow of a subsidy removal? If I can come up with these, are you trying to tell me that a well-meaning leader can't assemble a panel of experts that'd put together a better plan than sharing rice? And if you're saying that the best that Tinubu and his "we prepared for 15 years" gang can suggest is sharing of rice, then by all things that's sacred, don't you think they are ill-equipped to pilot the affairs of this nation. You're British. How many boneheaded decisions did Liz Truss make before she was bundled out? H |

Realmrsean: He is not wrong The only reason kidnappers and these people have confidence is that they knew everyone is sitting down like a Xmas chicken inside cage waiting for their turn Gun ownership wont stop all crimes but it will make some criminals think twice. Abi what gives 50 bandits confidence to attack a community of over 10,000 people it not that they know they cant be challenged |

I know how I was raised according to the size of our coats. 600k is more than enough abeg, infact it's too big for simple family man way no send all those luxuries. What's data for family, DStv sub and all those stuffs am seeing on the list. My aunt and her husband combine bring in about 300k monthly, they still live in comfortable flat and also enjoy life while training their kids. Sportsweb: Mention specific items on the list aside DSTV that is a luxury for a middle class family. For Ur information, family data is the same thing as the data u and Ur spouse use for one whole month on Ur iPhone or laptop or smart TV. Ur aunty & husband combined income of 300k is prior to this current subsidy removal and floating of naira . No? Have u asked her for money the way u normally ask her before now? What was her response? Did she give u the same amount she usually give u? The discussion is not about the fact that people earning below 600k today will die of hunger ; the discussion is centered on the fact that if u earn 600k or below before Tinubu's subsidy removal and floating of dollar ; u will struggle to adjust ur spending pattern without groaning. Na from there different people just dey pick their own narrative dey run with am. 1 Like |

BlueRayDick. You see what I feared the last time passengers of GIG and ABC Transport comp was kidnapped? Passengers in a GUO bus just got kidnapped and the driver shot dead. https://www.nairaland.com/7996577/guo-motor-attacked-passengers-kidnapped |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:10pm On Feb 10 |
Emaprince: And so it begins! U will be surprised that people will still come here and ask u if kidnapping of passengers started under Tinubu 🤷♂️. This is why I have shunned road travel outside Lagos and ogun state for a long while. When I see people travel on long distance via road I just marvel at how they do it with all the insecurity in this country |

LordAdam16: Fancy theories are allowed. Does India give LPG subsidy to Transporters? FYI, a litre of PMS is N1,700 in India So if Indian private transporters have converted their tanks to take LPG, Nigerian Government should go and convert all private transporters tanks, or give them time to do so while paying billions of dollars in subsidies they don't have? 6 months later, only to find uptake is low? No worry, let price of PMS induce them. There is a market solution to everything. As fuel hit N600, we started seeing niggas start inquiring about converting their tanks. Nothing induces change like free market. Anger will make us theorise fanciful nonsense in this country. We have been theorising nonsense since independence. Someone who said they will remove subsidy on DAY ONE is now brainstorming unactionable and long term ideas that are unimplementable from DAY ONE. 3 Likes |

GloriousGbola:I can still remember that it was not even Tinubu who stopped the subsidy; Buhari stopped it by not including it in the last budget right before Tinubu took over, though Tinubu had said that subsidy is gone. I don't know why some people are even saying it was Tinubu who stopped subsidy when it was stopped by Buhari. This comment of mine isn't even an approval of this present administration. Therefore, if anyone wants to quote this post of mine, be reasonable. 3 Likes |
