Realmrsean: Use facts, probability and available stats to make decisions than intuition and instinct. Cos According to Murphy's Law anything left to chance will most likely fail There are many times instincts fail but we ignore but the one time it works we hail it like Naija pastor and predictions Enter exam hall and use instinct for Multiple choice Question out of 10 you will be lucky to get 4 correct. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Realmrsean: That's the whole point. There's no scientific explanation for that gut feeling. It's even more puzzling when there's no precedence of such occurring to you yet you have feel a strong urge to do otherwise. Just like that sudden urge to take a detour off a route you've driven for years without fail. You ask yourself why, but no explanation, yet you still feel that voice say, "No, go that way". You can't explain it, I can't, science can't. I'm barely even religious so it can't be attributed to being churchy or other such attributions to the divine. But we still can't explain what drives gut feeling. |

Realmrsean:Spot on. Gut feeling when something seems off is just fear. it's your brain doing subconscious pattern recognition. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 3:17pm On Feb 12 |
Realmrsean: Maybe; then again, maybe not. Even evolutionists do not agree the evolution theory is absolute - they still debate it. But scientists have made one submission which we all agree with - we only understand a fraction of how the brain (mind) works. We don't even know it's full capabilities. It's like generative AI - cooking up a gazillion possibilities. It also has proven telepathic abilities where you look at a person and you communicate with eyes alone. Who says it doesn't have other abilities? The abilities emcompassed in what we call "gut feeling"? Until we understand how it works and have a full explanation for it, dismissing it is playing ostrich. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 3:22pm On Feb 12 |
Bombblacks:Fear? Gut feeling embodies instincts and intuition, and more. Like encountering a tech problem you've never had before and without checking a tutorial, you fix it. Didn't learn it, never seen anything similar, but you know how to fix it instinctively. Or like trying to prepare a certain novel native meal. The recipé is hazy, you've never done it before, but somehow you're led on to do it this way and simmer it that way, and it turns out to be a great meal. Tell me how fear applies to both gut feeling scenarios. |

DissTroy:Those examples don't even fall under gut feelings |

iamoyindamola: Okay thanks, I've seen it |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 3:32pm On Feb 12 |
Bombblacks:Actually, they do. Gut feeling is having the urge or push to do something or some insight into a situation with no fore knowledge of it. After all, most things we do as humans are based on the knowledge we have. And if you have NO pre-knowledge of it yet so certain about the outcome due to some inner conviction, it's gut feeling. |

2 hostages rescued yesterday night in rafah. Israel force now in rafah the last place untouched by them since they started their military campaign in Gaza. hamas stronghold and probably were they're keeping the rest of the hostages. hamas are taking advantage of the fact that rafah is densely populated (over 1m people) that's why it's has been difficult for IDF. Hamas days are numbered. @okpanansukkaisbae |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by ToyinDipo(m): 6:58pm On Feb 12 |
Realmrsean:Good instinct is based on some obscure knowledge base, there are some patterns that have been accumulated consciously or unconsciously in the mind over time, that it gets to some point that someone may not be aware of it, but when need arises, we instinctively adapt those patterns, without realizing, to formulate a solution. Some make decisions basely on data(often more accurate but bounded), while others on instinct or mixture of both. |

My Uncle travelled from Benin to Lagos today. He got to GIGM Uselu around 5am and boarded a bus to Lagos (Festac). He said they were only 2 that were passengers. The management had to beg them to join the bus going to Iyana Ipaja, because they cannot carry only 2 people to Festac..A whole GIGM Even when they agreed, that one wasn't filled too. They were about 8 in the bus. The way the economy is going, very soon everyone including the rich will just come outside and protest. The moment people cannot afford their daily bread, then EndSARS will be a child's play |

izzou: What makes me mad is that Buhari was 4cking this country for 8 straight years yet APC and their apologists were goading him on. Today they are telling us Buhari borrowed the country broke to the extent that our future oil revenue has already been pledged to pay debt. Debt over infrastructures that can't pay itself over even in 15 years time . The same pattern continued with with Tinubu 4cking things up in his early days and they claim it's him being bold and taking the tough decisions others before him are scared of taking . Today now almost everybody is groaning under the weight of the hardship. I'm afraid the worse is yet to come this one IMF is already advising Tinubu to still go ahead to remove subsidy from electricity and price of PMS totally . 1 Like |
