It was in fighting dirty, that all what not began to come out.

The thing no reach to begin translate to the whole tribe.

The initial post was him talking about his state.

Everybody would react if an Igbo governor was appointing more Yorubas into his cabinet

Or a Christian leader is picking Muslims into his team.
Yes. Everybody would react, by calling out said leader or said person, not but burying the entire tribe or religion.

Deede, I know context is key, but I also know how Nigeria has worked since it's inception.

When all else fails, blame the Igbo.

Scammers are thieves, man. And the very worst kind of thieves. Not only to they steal money but they wreck lives forever while at it.

In Nigeria and on this thread, they are given euphemism names like "G Boys" and "Working Boys", their music is celebrated and their poster boy named unofficially on Nairaland as the " Ariste of the Year 2023", while some even bolder ones like Okafor join in to criticize politicians, shit on Nigeria, and justify fraud as the backbone of the informal economy in Nigeria.

We still celebrate thieves! We accept them so much so thieves who should be in hiding and in jail have the never to argue and troll to our faces.

We encourage fraudsters/thieves and cheer them on.
then what's the rationale for jungle justice?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 10:27am On Feb 24
And there you have it: cheesy

A rallying cry to war is being song in their native Igbo language.

"Let's attack him! Let's go all out for him!"

And the baying for blood continues.

And this is why other tribes distrust you by default - you bite but play the victim's card.

Points continuing to be made.

You know, this same issue is common in Nigerian extended families

Brothers have been fighting for years, and they pass the battle of hatred to the children

In my extended family, we the children in my age range, had a closed meeting where we decided to drop all these unnecessary fights once these old men relocate to heaven.

Apart from political differences, nobody hates anybody here. So, why isn't it possible to just live like that?

Truth be told, I've wondered the same thing far too often.

Maybe it's the political elite (including Igbo politicians) who want to keep it that way because the masses will be too busy sniping at one another to truly do something about the deplorable state of the country.

Why the hell will I harbor hate for anyone because of tribe? I have travelled to and stayed in all 6 Geopolitical zones, with a total of 27 states. I have interacted with people from different tribes in each place I've been and I've seen the good and the bad.

The first day I came to Lagos, I got to Peace Park Surulere by 11pm after I missed my stop at Jibowu because I didn't know where I was and it was dark and the driver ignored me. I found my way to a military checkpoint, and a Staff Sergeant Effiong took me on his bike at no cost to me from Surulere to Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Yaba. By 11.30pm.

When I nearly got lost in Jos, it was a group of Muslims that harboured me and gave me food until the person I was waiting for arrived.

I have nothing against any tribe. I only call out individuals who have refused to understand that people can be individually wicked and not use those opportunities to cast aspersions on my tribe and religion.

When I see the trajectory Nigeria has taken since amalgamation and I still see those rhetorics repeated decades later, you don't expect me not to be wary.

The truth is Disstroy was talking about his state. He didn't bring it here. He didn't come here to say don't marry Igbos (I mean, before the dragging started)

His context was in the political space of Akwa-Ibom, which he has his right and opinion on.

It is the same for Ondo, where Aketi made someone an LG whatever. The people revolted, but they haven't said Yorubas shouldn't marry Igbos.

The context should always matter

I once opposed when people were saying that White Igbo lady should be made a commisioner in Anambra.

The guy was speaking from a political point of view. Na Prosper turn am to another thing.

This na just shalaye Bros.

Bless you.
It's a simple thing.
All tribes are the same but when I see someone exhibiting tribalistic behaviour, I call him or her out.

You cannot claim to want to be better than your parents and then still reason like them.

I don't need to worry about Nigeria. I worry about my circle

Leave Nigeria as it is. Nobody can change anything, except God intervenes.

What you should worry yourself about removing yourself from a tribalistic circle. There are threads on NL i would never open sef.

You are a halfwit who started what you are always good at - making people clash needlessly. I stated you wanted Saturday morning entertainment and SeanOkafor took the bait.

You think I'd go on the defensive?
Same me who said I'd still vote Obi no matter the number of clashes I have with Igbos?

Same me who exposed Akpabio who is our current highest-ranking politician?

Akpabio, for all of his flaws, did more than all Igbo governors combined as our state governor, but I don't allow tribal sentiments becloud his flaws. Yet he's still performed more than all and the testaments are there to see.

For all of the many developmental indices which Akwa Ibom is praised for, show me one Igbo moniker who has had anything good to say when Akwa Ibom is being mentioned on this board. Even one. ObianoJ has at some point. Who else?

But when it's anti-Akwa Ibom, they all suddenly can see the posts.

I can mention 10 Yoruba monikers.

Igbos see nothing good in others if it's not one if their own.

That's why in their criticism, they have nothing good to say about others.

You got your Saturday entertainment so let all the issues come out. No holds bar.

Igbos are snakes. At least the ones on this thread have proven to be. They are mostly the first to go tribalistic but play the victim's card.

How incredibly open-minded and accommodating of the FG.

But people justified the arrest of someone for naming his dog Buhari. And someone is being 'invited' by the DSS in connection with a protest over hardship, which has been occurring all over the country with zero repercussions.
