Those guys would've killed u before u can use ur gun sef. They shoot at cars indiscriminately in a bid to make them stop

And those that didn't get killed in the shootout what do you think they will do when 20 men are herding 60 people into the bush with at least 20 if them armed?

They would’ve disarmed u immediately after the shootout. U think those guys are dull enough to allow u conceal weapon while they are leading u inside the bush ? grin

Did u not read the part where the guy mentioned how his vehicle was ransacked ? Even the phone he hid under the car seat they located it.

If people are allowed to carry weapons , the kidnappers will be more deadlier sef . The initial shootout will always be highly fatal. And only the few that survived will be taxed for huge ransoms after they must have disarmed them.

You have watched too many movies jare.

No be your police for Texas wey fear for their life the other day in a school shooting?

What makes heroism work in the US is that you have a working alert system and you know that someone has called the cavalry. So all you have to do is hold off the Indians till reinforcements arrive, called in by 911. In Nigeria you are often on your own in the city, so how much more are you on your own in the middle of a bush surrounded by murderers who are supported by the locals and the police?

And while they are disarming them 20 kidnappers to 60 hostages, the hostages will just be looking like dundee? Three shots the kidnappers will flee, no one wants to die. If one of the kidnapper get dropped the others will flee

If kidnappers believe at least 20 people can be armed, they won't go on such journey in the first place, they always look for soft targets and most of Nigeria is a soft target except for barracks which is why they hardly attack barracks except you are a terrorist ready to die not those hoping to collect ransom

The hostage takers always look for soft targets e.g elementary schools, malls where unarmed people are. How many of these mentally unstable people pick on a gun range to test his mental illness? It's only when they see elementary school where no one is armed that they become mentally ill

In the US many people are armed which is why you know others will come to your aid

Below is a typical example inside a church, they didn't dial 911, they didn't wait for police they handled the intruder
without those armed parishioners the gunman will kill until bullet finish or he's satisfied like Fulanis do to Benue and Plateau churches

Neighborhood robbers in Nigeria the moment they know there might be ex soldiers or soldiers in a neighborhood they avoid it and go to unprotected places where 1million boys gang will come and be raping housewives and daughters while the man of the house looks on helplessly

U obviously don’t follow the timeline of how the attacks/kidnappings are carried out.

While u are driving on speed u will just see bullets flying into ur windshield . The kidnappers have an element of surprise . Or are u saying everybody will be driving with one hand and the other hand on their own gun also spraying bullets into the air ?

Even if u carry a gun with u, it is difficult for u to escape such attacks especially when the kidnappers are laying in ambush waiting for u.

The solution is not people carrying guns but for our security as a nation to be beefed up. There are so many under-policed space in the country .

By the way, I think the guy said the kidnappers were like 35 in number . Almost even their victims’ number sef

the real problem is the police are not ready to do police work
there is n way they are not getting support from communities or other cattle rearers

If the kidnappers are trying to kill everybody that's a different matter but they want to take some people alive which pose a different challenge

People will die including the kidnappers and they don't want that, they want the monopoly of terror, they want to kill and not be harmed

Real police work is dirty and many of us are not ready for it. Some of the dirty police work involves harassment of some people who might be innocent and invasion of privacy

Like with Sars

Even in America there are places where 10 people can get shot and no single person will snitch including the families of those killed

So when police harass everyone to get information it becomes another scandal

While police remain with a big targets on their backs you get more props for killing cops.

It's a tough and almost thankless job. I can't do it. I won't advice anyone to do it and big respect to anyone who chooses to

Back in the days, Coaches and Luxury buses usually travel with an armed escort to protect them from robbers

Well, it made it worse and they had to stop.

The robbers didn't have the patience to stop the bus and rob. They opened fire immediately they saw one.

The fact that you have no weapon on you gives you a higher chance to survive.

Exactly . Back then the first casualties during such robberies are usually the armed escorts .

How do u want police officers to put their lives on the line when there’s no guarantee their loved ones will get life insurance payout if they die in action?

Nigeria police are not motivated to the extent of facing armed gangs with automatic weapons .

Hope u remember this guy below who Jejely hid himself while the last robbery in Kogi was taking place ? grin

I watched a video on YouTube of how a woman shot a police officer.

The officer was as civil and professional as possible, giving the woman too much freedom while he was interrogating her.

What did the officer get in return? Gunshots.

Mass murder? What is the one happening in Plateau and Benue called? In that kidnapping twitter thread the guy said he saw many villages abandoned, previous inhabitants killed or fled why? because there was always one side who had the gun

As shocking as it may be, there is another village going to be raided this weekend, the inhabitants probably are aware and are just like chicken waiting in the cage for their turn for slaughter

The kidnappers are not ready to die that is why they collect ransom, dead men dont spend ransom. Criminals are different from Terrorists. Terrorists are ready to die, criminals want to enjoy life after their actions

When he shoots at your vehicle, the motive is to stop people not to kill everyone, if he shoots and kill everyone then who will pay him ransom or what does he gain? just to see blood?

Kidnappers do it for a reward and only people alive can pay that reward

How has that been working for the people in Plateau, Kaduna Benue etc

I remember the trial of Zamani Lekwot, his main crime against the Fulani was that he armed his own people. That act got the Fulani people upset. How dare you have a weapon to defend yourself instead of just laying down and wait your turn

Why do herdmen slow down when they know Ebubeagu or Amotekun are around vs a village they know everyone is depending on prayers

There is a reason many of us will not want to be police officers. This man too wanted to get home t his family but in the line of his work thats the hazard he ran into

For me I am always respectful and grateful to law enforcements, Its them putting their lives on the line thats making regular folks to go to bed and sleep

They didn’t need everybody alive . They shoot at as many vehicles as possible ; some people will get injured in the shootings while others will die .

It is the few that survive that they collect ransom from. They don’t mind to kill some of the hostages , u read where the guy mentioned how they are willing to kill anybody that slows them down or gives them problem .

Carrying gun will never solve the problem 👎

So how do they know the few people that survived wont be carrying a weapon? If they attack 40 people kill 10, How do they know how many of the 30 remaining who are armed? You know why the kidnappers were bold to walk around and pick each of the survivors from their cars? Because they know all of them not a single one is armed.

If they are going to one car and they hear gunshot and one of the kidnappers down, do you think they will proceed? or run back into the forest

The reason why robbers will write letters informing you they are coming, keep to the date, stay for 6hrs even cook food and rape peoples wifes and daughters is because they know all these are lame ducks and can offer very little resistance

I can also make the same arguement for ISWAP.

Villages who surrender to them get to live. The ones that fought back get to count casualties (mostly our uniformed men)

My goal is to live, not to kill 20 robbers and get shot by the 21st one.

I'll rather bet on begging them to let me live, than shooting 2 and still get killed.

What is the goal of ISWAP and whats the goal of kidnappers

If its to collect ransom or kill then will anyone be alive? ISWAP wants you to convert and join them in their struggle for whatever and once you do that they spare you

Do you think telling kidnappers or herdsmen that I have confessed kidnaping as my profession, I will join you from today and become a fellow kidnapper/herdsmen "
see if they will let the person live

Begging those kidnappers how well did it work for the kidnapped?

Why do you think those kidnapped people never thought it will be a great idea to beg the kidnappers

Or if they begged, how many of them that begged have been released based on the volume of tears or mercy from the kidnappers

Those killed by kidnappers you think they didn't beg hard enough

The presidency should sell the 19-yr old aircraft, and in its place, purchase an A330-900 neo Business Jet.
The A330 neo (business jet) is a relatively new jet with a range exceeding 9,000nm, and would be cheaper to maintain.
