Why are u deliberately misquoting me despite the fact that I’ve clarified my statement up there ?

Is something not being popular the same thing as not being in use at all. 🤷‍♂️

Yes there are CNG tankers in Nigeria but they are still a handful compared to Diesel and PMS trucks. I know a company that has a fleet of trucks, they only have a handful of CNG trucks while the rest are normal PMS/Diesel trucks.

Note that those CNG trucks are quite safer than converting ur PMS car to CNG o. The location of the CNG cylinder is somewhat safer unlike with cars when ur cylinder will be in ur booth.
Are you talking about CNG powered trucks or tankers that transport CNG?

BlueRayDick:

For starters, how many CNG trucks do we have in this country sef before u start comparing the rate of accident of PMS tanker and CNG tanker?

Anyways, below is link to a CNG truck explosion as recent as June 2024

https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2024/06/04/four-dead-as-cng-truck-explodes-in-rivers/

One had earlier happened in Ogun state and below was the excerpts of the FG delegation's visit to the scene:

https://punchng.com/fg-delegate-visits-ogun-gas-explosion-scene/

Between me and u, does this inspire any confidence?

Ekpo said, “Nigeria’s gas resources are up to 208 trillion cubic feet and we have to make use of it in the way that it should be to drive the economy of this nation.

as an aside,

this is what you should be focusing on
and the fact that it is likely far cheaper to process CNG than refine PMS

japanese cars were a joke until the 70s opec oil crisis
americans were not interested in them
then they became the standard because they are fuel efficient
today they are the preferred cars all over the world

we are in an energy crisis that is partly due to the fact that we have made petrol our primary source of energy.
so should we continue doing things as we have , seeing as we are not making any headway or should we explore alternatives?
incidentally, this is how fortunes are made.

don't join others in complaining about the noise when opportunity is knocking

I’m talking about CNG powered trucks . We have them but they are few in circulation compared to PMS/Diesel powered trucks .

LPG was once a cheaper alternative to Kerosene .

When we all moved to LPG for cooking, today LPG and Kerosene are almost the same price.

Nigeria Kerosene prices
Liter Gallon
NGN 1,769.860 6,699.646

n1769 / litre

even worse than AGO

which is why there is no more mixing kerosene with diesel

I never said we should keep doing things the way they are. If u read through the link I posted about the FG delegation’s visit to the scene of the Ogun explosion; u will see the minister raised concerns which are genuine and fair.

If we want millions of road users to move to CNG , then we must cross our t’s and dot our i’s . We are not a people known not to cut corners even in the most sacred of situations.

Breaking: Moments ago Israeli F-35 planes fired several missiles at a building where high-ranking Palestinian and Hezbollah terrorists were meeting. Reportedly at least 15 were killed, amongst them Hezbollah's number 2, Ibrahim Aqil.

Imagine fighting Israel and you are not hiding in a bunker like your leader,na death wish be that.

Nope, bought it like that.
I've seen lots of cars like that here, meaning Government allows it or manufacturers add it to the vehicle.
It’s popular with Toyota and Ford Falcon…Surely it’s the manufacturers

The reasons I will never do a conversion are simple.
1) I get no trunk space in my car.
2) Reduced power to my engine. I can't have my car moving slower biko.

Another measure concern is the fact that we are not safety conscious and alot of people will go for conversions that are involve bypass just to save money or use even cheaper parts.
Imagine being stuck in traffic with cars that did such conversion😅.

The price is high and we know people will look for cheaper ND like you said, lesser quality products.

These products will have usage instructions that will not be adhered to.
Thereby putting us in danger even without knowing

The Local Government Election Bill is the primary focus of the National Assembly's agenda.

As the National Assembly reconvenes for its plenary session next week, a significant proposal aimed at reforming the local government election process will be the main focus.

The discussions will primarily focus on the constitutional amendment, the 2025 budget, and the proposed changes to judicial laws aimed at strengthening the supreme authority of local government autonomy.

The legislation aimed at establishing a body to oversee local government elections, championed by Senator Mohammed Sani Musa of Niger East, will be a key focus as states initiate preparations for these elections.

The proposed legislation aims to create the National Independent Local Government Electoral Commission (NILGEC).

This new body would take over the responsibility from the State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) for overseeing elections for local government chairpersons and councillors.

The bill has attracted considerable interest and is anticipated to be expedited through the legislative process.w

However, despite its current momentum, there are potential constitutional issues that may arise.

Insiders in the National Assembly have indicated that modifying Section 197(1) of the constitution, which mandates the establishment of SIECs in every state, will necessitate the consent of the State Houses of Assembly.
