Israel has been flying sorties non-stop for almost a year now.
Western jets are high maintenance. The F-35A requires around 4 hours of maintenance for every hour flown.
So it is conceivable that stood down F-35 may have been parked and couldn't be sent airborne in the 12 minutes flight time of the Iranian missiles.

Getting a plane to fly from here then touchdown there and making a plane to be good enough to do sorties are 2 very different levels of maintenance and requirements.

The F-35 has a mission capable rate of 48%.

So yea, when it's grounded for repairs/maintenance, odds are it ain't going no where.
It's a sitting duck.

Now, ideally they'll move those to underground storage as the Iranians do.
But the Iranians know they're vulnerable. The Israelis did not think they were until the last attack and only have hangars.
This, I believe, is the primary reason they've pushed back their response.
They have a lot of sensitive assets that they didn't bother to bury because the US had ensured they enjoyed air superiority for decades.
Iran has its nuclear sites under mountains. The Dimona is out there visible from space.
Their desalination plants, chip facilities, MIC factories are all exposed.
