Earlier this month when I travelled to PH, I wanted to buy that Dele Farotimi book at the PH airport because my flight back to Lagos was delayed and I figured I needed something to keep me occupied while waiting for about 4 to 5 hours .

I asked the book seller at the airport if he has the book and he said yes. I asked him to give me and he said he doesn’t have it anymore . I was confused and told him that but u just said u have it just now na . He said he’s forgotten that it has finished .

So I decided to go for another book and paid him. While I was about leaving, he just had a change of mind then brought out the Dele Farotimi book from where he kept it. He now told me that because of the whole court case wahala , they don’t display the book and they are careful to observe who they sell it to; lest I’m a security agent like DSS or CID .

I just laughed , paid him for the book after he advised I keep it in my hand luggage and not bring it out in public while I’m still in the airport .

The whole incident left me speechless sha , but then I understand that some people do really have powers in this country o. I mean the book seller is in perpetual fear that he might get into trouble selling the book because of the damning accusations the author made in the book . 🤦‍♂️
