Apostle Femi Lazarus has been vocal in recent times calling out “Gospel Artistes “ who charge humongous amounts to “minister “ in churches .

He recently projected on his church’s screen ; a mail from a gospel artiste stating his terms of service for him to perform in a church and part of the terms includes honorarium of 10k USD , executive hotel suites for the artiste and his team , first class flight ticket for the artiste and business class flight ticket for his crew members , etc.

Since Femi Lazarus started the callout weeks ago , Timi Dakolo has been subtly shading Femi Lazarus and questioning why pastor’s get to collect offerings , tithes , special donations , etc but they expect gospel artistes not to get paid . He even suggested that churches should rather use their resident choir if they can’t afford the popular gospel artistes fees instead of the pastors whining online about the gospel artistes fees charged .

Now Timi Dakolo has gone a step further by revealing that Femi Lazarus actually charges 150 USD per head for entrance into his international school of ministry . Dakolo queried why Femi Lazarus will charge others to teach them about the ministry/gospel of Jesus that should be free . He is saying if Gospel artistes are to be performing for free then pastors too should not be asking congregants to pay for any teaching whatsoever in the house of God.

Below is link to Femi Lazarus school of ministry payment evidences posted by Dakolo.

If u ask me , I think Dakolo’s point of view is quite logical
These pastors have several gospel ministers that'd perform for pretty much free, but are obsessed with the likes of Timi Dakolo because they know those are the ones that will swell offering purse.

It's good as Timi Dakolo is bringing receipts, there is a very business end to the church venture and everybody in the value chain deserves to eat of the fruits.

Honestly, ur ignorance is a bliss.

This was the same thing I told a former colleague back then who saw a ticket posted by one of his ex-university mates on twitter and was surprised that people win tens of millions from sports betting. He said he wished he knows how to play sports betting that he will just be cashing out considering he's a soft guy who is actually loaded (aside from his salary, he's from upper upper middle-class family)

I just told him to not even dream about it because he will regret the day he ever learnt how to bet. I said I can teach him the terms, how to forecast and how to bet but he will later cuss me in life when the thing starts eating into his finances when he becomes an addict. He go dey inside church service he go dey check games wey don come or ticket wey he fit quickly cash out before everything cast. grin

Timi Dakolo is not even a gospel artiste at that ( I guess that is why he can take on Femi Lazarus, cos most gospel artiste will not want to be seen as dragging an Apostle), but his points are very valid.

Like u rightly said; everyone in the value chain deserves to eat. Most of those gospel artistes being invited are even avenue for pastors to raise funds in their church. If a pastor organizes a program and he lists 3 to 5 big gospel artistes, u will see several well-to-do members rising up to donate substantial sums to the success of such programs and the gospel artistes' stay. Only a part of these sums will go to the gospel artistes while the rest will be residual income to the church.

Tomi Dakolo is right on this

I think someone here said something sometime ago that “Never allow yourself to be used for free for services that others are being paid for”

Gospel that should be free and disciples being taught how to be like Christ are being charged for that but Gospel Artiste who compose songs should not be charging fees

Moreover, Big Gopel artiste equals large offering for that day program so why is he complaining

If you allow them use you, na your problem be that

Bruh, no be say you talk am but I have been tempted many times to get into it.

Last year, I even registered Bet9ja account after my guy use 1500 to hammer 450k.

I was sent activation mail in my email but I never activated it.

It was that time betting was being hotly discussed here but when I read the overwhelming negative comments from guys, I jejely deleted the activation email.
I mean, I get 99 problems but betting addiction ain't one of them, and I thank God.

On Saturday myself and 2 of my friends had a hangout at an indoor lounge that has a sports bar where we decided to just drink and catch up on old times.

One of my two friends saw the snooker board and said he wants to play but surprising myself and the other friend don't know how to play. He was now asking how we can be guys who grew up on the streets and don't know how play snooker?

I told him when we were much younger police regularly raid snooker joints and game centers where they arrest young boys at random and their parents will have to bail them later in the day or the next day. The fear that if police should arrest me in a Snooker joint, my parents will nearly kill me made me to never go near any snooker joint till I became an adult. That fear of parents really instilled some levels of discipline in us growing up o

We had a snooker joint on medical school campus, and 4 booze joints (3 in students area and 1 in staff area), and a video game joint. And police no dey enter.

I think it was not until some external boys designed one of my guy’s face with bottle on top snooker gambling before the student union government closed off the snooker joint.
The guy still get the scars today.

Christianity is Nigeria is more chaotic than ever. So much noise, less substance

Can I invite Femi Lazarus to my street fellowship, and he'll come for free? Femi no dey collect, whether na charge or Honorarium?

It's funny how these pastors who are only seen in Invite-me-I-invite-you crusades have the guts to castigate another group who are doing the same thing with them.

If you will not pay Gospel Artistes, use your church choir.

Na why Bro Gbile Akanni still remains my favorite.

600K is a lot of money, but it's not so much really.

TYPICAL MONTHLY EXPENSE FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR ( BOTH KIDS ABOVE 3 YEARS)
NEPA + Fuel for house - 30K
Rent per month (2 bedroom flat) - 65K
Fuel for the family car - 60K
Feeding for family, including base food the kids take to school - 120K
Snacks for kids to school - 16K
Toiletries - 10K
School fees for both kids per month - 50K
Black tax - 15K
Clothing allowance for the family - 20K
DSTV Compact - 14K
Data for family - 20K
House bills - 5K
Car maintenance per month - 10K
Offering - 5K
Miscellaneous - 40K

TOTAL - 480K

I might be forgetting a thing or two, but in my opinion, this should be about monthly expenses for a lower-middle to a proper middle-class family, especially in Lagos (mainlands of mainland grin).

Theflint1 can we have an update on this list😁

Lmao.. The fuel for family car, I'm guessing it's a jeep but let's assume it's a car that 30k can fill the tank so a small economy vehicle. Likely a kia😁

How many times in a month are they filling the tank? 😁? Let's start from there.

65k is a 780k for rent.
So meaning they live in an area that is cheap (using Lagos). Meaning the traffic situation is bad because most cheap areas on the mainland in Lagos usually have traffic issues. See I used most oo.
780k for a 2bedroom flat is a miracle except in Ikorodu, deep inside ago or Festac, even satellite Don
Increase in rent and you'll deal with traffic.
Meaning more fuel consumption 😁

How is the price of rent now? 😁
