So, people in this 21st century think Biafra will still work?

Wonderful!

If Biafra is actualized in January, it will scatter by March.

I can't vote PDP because of Okowa and Atiku. I can't vote APC because of Buhari and then... tiefnubu, but I would have been tempted to vote for a younger tiefnubu.

I was leaning more towards PO before, but I have serious fears for both the people around him and the deals wey him go get strike to stand a real chance. Plus, I am not impressed with his cult of Obidients, so No!

Las Las... If I wake up that morning I fit do tumbutumbu and settle for one person.

I have made my peace with the probability that in my life time, I am most likely not going to witness a better Nigeria.

I was about posting something like this before I saw your reply. They want to make the elections a tribal affair so badly that they'd latch on to anything. The Mercy Johnson in question is from the middle-belt and her husband the politician is Edo.

If this election goes tribal then Atiku should be declared winner grin

Reset Nigeria to factory setting. Let's go back to parliamentarian/regional government as practiced post Independence before Coup.

Dividing Nigeria is no longer possible, whether we like it or not. We are too intertwined to go separate ways now.

You just can't go against the people. The people who made you what you are. No blue check mark can even align with her.

If you are a celebrity, it means that you are at the mercy of your fans. You've got to use your head.

My personal opinion is that both of them answered this badly. Terribly even.

Tinubu was too busy puffing his chest and self-fellating in his answer, and he was full-flow into chanting his own oriki by the time he got to talking about taming the Atlantic Ocean. He really reminded me of the main politician from King of Boys. He was taking credit for achievements that occurred outside of his tenure as Governor as well

Believe it or not, I think Obi actually started answering the question on the right footing, except that he was stammering a lot. He lost it when he started calling stupIId numbers about Bangladesh, stuttering and stammering as he did so. The stuttering that made it difficult to follow the numbers he was calling out was bad enough, but using Bangladesh as an example for Nigeria to follow simply asinine in my opinion given that the Bangladeshi economy is currently on the brink of collapse.

Both of the guys' excessive focus on numbers in their answers emphasised their leanings towards aggressive capitalism, in a country that is crying out for socialist reform - starting primarily with Federal Restructuring.

In my opinion, telling us about how you would boost IGR x 1 billion is only a way of campaigning on a platform of trickle down economics to an electorate that don't even understand the concept in the first place.

When you then consider how tiny the circle of capital providers are in Nigeria, and that both of these men have a history diverting public capital into their own enterprises, then you realise that they fully intend to be part of the apex from which the funds are suppose to trickle down...except trickle down economic theory is a scam anyway. In other words, they fully intend to benefit from any IGR increases, whilst you most likely will not

Nigeria needs a president that is literally willing and actively working to weaken the role of the president significantly. This concept ironically is logically at odds with the self-ambition and messianic complex required to run for president in the first instance.

And so, I fully expect another sob story and tales of integrity by yet another contender in 2027.

You have said it all whoever emerges as the winner of the election come February among the leading candidates will be pro-market (which is a recipe for disaster).

Facts

1:Igbos constitute a majority in that comment section
2:I brought it here
3:I am not angry at you for pointing out the terrible things someone said
4:I posted those comments not because they are tribal but they are against her rights
5:I didn't attack you for posting Dayo's rhetorics
6: I am irritated at the politics you were playing with "Dayo's rhetorics"

There are ober 10 thousand comments on that IG post.
I'm guessing you went through every single one of them to come up with your first point abi?

She posted something that people didn't like and they've spoken about it and told her they will meet in February..

People even told her that while they are okay with her husband winning, apc will lose the general election.

So this your attempt to shift it from a tribal perspective that you originally introduced is just DOA

Why do you think so?

Nigeria's problem is the fact that all our options are corrupt individuals. The people ruling us are theives, irrespective of tribe or religion.

Look at Bayelsa for example. Is it when they go their separate ways that they will blossom? When as a state, the indigene as a Governor cannot be responsible and accountable to his fellow brothers?

All the states i have been to in Nigeria have poverty written all over them. Except Lagos, the rest are way way below the poverty line. Yet, it is their own son of the soil that is the governor. So what will dividing the country do?

Divide Nigeria into the 6 geopolitical zones, and in few months, we will be having states looking for their own exit.

ASPAMDA market is in Trade Fair, Lagos. There have been a power tussle in that market for over two years now

The past president (Offorkansi) did his tenure and extended it. It took a court order to throw him out.

After much politicking, an election was conducted of which another guy won (Jim Best).

Them no let this man rest. From one court to another. His wife and elder brother even died while he was president. Finally finally, they threw him out

They just conducted another one on this week. Only one candidate was on the ballot, and only him won. I never see this kind election before.
This is a market of 99% Igbos oh

Greedy people will always be the problem. It is not whether a Yoruba man or Hausa man is ruling you.

The only way to know if cessation will work is to evaluate how the individual states are faring.

All of them are very poor. Forget all these nonsense hype of posting roads and aerial views.

States are owing pensioners, salaries, cant employ teachers, cant generate IGR, cant improve the economic status of their state sef

You have a point. I'm not in a position to give a lengthy reply right now, but In my opinion, it is Nigeria's weak institutions have left the masses at the mercy of these leaders you describe.

But bruh, corruption is everywhere. The difference between a UK/US and us is that the government is closer to the people in the form of councils and states. There's also a dominannt social culture which allows and encourages individual franchise.

I believe more people are likely to feel empowered to compete for president in a country where there's only 5 states. The competition will naturally lead contestants to develop differentiation strategies, such as a dominant political ideology and/or a focus on performance. We saw it in the 60s. It can happen again.
