Victor Osimhen’s move to Napoli once again caught the headlines, with Napoli’s offices being searched by the local police following the charges of misconduct in relation to the
transfer.
Today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb) takes a deep dive into the story, stating the men of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples raided the
headquarters of the Filmauro in Rome to execute a full-fledged search for evidence against Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has been identified as one
of the prime suspects in connection with the financial wrongdoings related to the
transfer of Victor Osimhen.
Besides the club chief, the police have also included the names of his wife Jacqueline Baudit and their children Edoardo and
Valentina in the list of potential suspects.

During the search, the law personnel took
some electronic devices that supposedly belonged to President De Laurentiis.
They confiscated letters, e-mails, telephone records, financial details and every bit of communication made between Lille and Napoli and also seized the contract of the
Nigerian centre-forward before leaving the office.

Napoli signed Osimhen from Lille for a reported transfer fee of €80 million (including add-ons). The deal reportedly included the exchange of the players such
as Orestis Karnezis, Ciro Palmieri, Claudio Manzi, and Luigi Liguori. The charges have been lodged on the basis of the “inflated”
financial figures swapped to carry out the whole operation.
Police have also searched Lille’s offices in France and recognised Lille’s former owner in Gérard López as a culprit there. The
general feeling suggests that López might have made millions, which he had collected
from the sale of Osimhen, disappear from the records.
Earlier, the same Osimhen deal was part of an FIGC-led capital gains case, which ended in a stalemate due to the lack of substantial evidence.

My questions: will this end his career? Can he be sold to another club after this saga? Will it jeopardize his career?
