Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, CSP Haruna Adulmalik.

The DPO in-charge of Nasarawa Eggon Division, was kidnapped around 9:30pm on Wednesday, June 22, along Bakyano-Arikya road while returning from supervision of officers deployed to provide security along the road.

It was gathered that the DPO ran into the kidnappers who ambushed his patrol hilux and whisked him away.

The DPO few days ago held a security meeting in the area with all the stakeholders where he expressed determination to ensure farmers/herders have a bumper harvest this season.............Read more

If a DPO can be kidnapped,then it is finished. It then means that police too need protection.

Money they suppose to use to equip the police and buy weapon, they prefer to loot it.
