Biodun556: We don't need your update.Leave all investigations to the London Met, and trial and judgment to the British court. Don't think you can trivialise or tribalise or politicise the issues. Britain is not Nigeria. There's nothing you can achieve with this your unprofessional, weak and self-serving defence woven admnister damage control. The court"s judgment will establish the truth. 1 Like |

What is the work of senators? Has Ekweremadu been executing projects in his constituency? Has he delivered his mandate to the people? If he has not fulfilled his job as a senator in his constituency, he should be jailed, he is not supposed to get a donor from Nigeria. You can't eat your cake and have it back, after impoverishing people, you want to harvest there kidneys? For what? Is unfair,it is too bad. |

But he made an application and the embassy accepted to give the visa then where is 15 years or 21 years issue coming from? And who notified the British authority the boy is 15 years and did the person know the boy is 15? Pls I'm not supporting human organ harvesting nor Ekweremadu but let's dig the truth out first. Well I wish him the best in his ordeal. |

This is the best analysis I can give about this case. The Legal Thing was done before travel Before they all travelled to the UK for the procedure, everything was fine. Visas were approved and all the normal procedure was done by the Ekweremadus. That is why no one was denied visa and no one was refused entry into the UK including the boy. The problem surfaces The problem started when the doctor that was to carry out the procedure asked the donor how old he (standard procedure) and the boy innocently told them his real age because he has no single knowledge of the entire visa process. His own was that "we wan carry you go UK." The doctor had to suspend the procedure immediately and request that another donor be brought in as it would be unethical for him to continue with the procedure. The Ekweremadus became desperate The Ekweremadus now trying to beat time got another tip that there was a willing donor in Turkey who would volunteer (I mean be paid) to donate, they headed for Turkey but were accustomed at Heathrow after the Met Police had been tipped of a possible Organ Harvesting motive. The Boy was also Smart. After the boy was rejected, he was asked to go back to those who brought him, but instead of pampering him till he gets to Naija, they started maltreating him, na so bobo go police station go report himself o. Kasala come burst! 1 Like |

Mickykarim: Mind you all organ donations in the UK must be voluntary. Sale or compensation isnt not allowed. It's actually a crime for money to exchange hands for organ spnation and even surrogacy. Only expenses will related to the procedure is permissible to be made. Can the defendants proof that compensation hasn't been promised in exchange of the organ? Can they establish a relationship between the boy and Sonia? Are they bestfriends, favourite cousin/sibling etc that the boy wouls just wake up and voluntary give up his kidney? Or did they find the boy from a media cry for help/kidney? Organ donation is a life altering decision and several genetic and mental evaluation takes place before a donor is certified as a match and the operation is carried out. it's beyond claiming the boy is 21 years on paper (possibly to avoid extra checks on consent etc). The medical testing must have established this boy is genetically 15yrs and not 21 as claimed. Also from the mental evaluation with a psychologist, as the donor is an adult this would be have done in privacy without the Ekere whatever people. If the boy is truly 15, no matter the coaching, with the kind of questioning his true age must have come through from these sessions plus the fact that compensation has been promised. Even questions like why have you chosen to do this? How do you know sonia etc Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. The law and advertising for an organ in the UK It is not illegal to place an advert, for example online or in a newspaper, seeking a living organ donor providing there is no offer of a reward, payment or material advantage to the potential donor. Under the Human Tissue Act 2004 and the Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006, it is an offence to give or receive a reward for the supply of, or for an offer to supply, any organ or part organ. It is also an offence to seek to find a person willing to supply any organ or part organ for reward. A reward could be any money, gift or other benefits with a financial value which influences the decision to donate an organ. As such, any offer of a reward in exchange for an organ is an offence in the UK. 2 Likes |

Biodun556:From the onset I knew this story wasn't as shameful and messy as it was presented by the media house, I knew there could possibly be another twist to it, for God's sake this Ekweremadu is rich enough to buy kidney for his daughter from any part of the world, let's wait for full investigation and trial process to establish the truth. Accusation is not conviction. I wish his sick daughter quick recovery! |

All I see on this case for now are all speculations , the case has not even gone to court and no plea has been registered. The hearing that took place was just for bail and it was denied. Let’s wait till July 7th to know what the Uk will throw at him and how the Ekweremadus will respond. The major issue here is the boy’s age , if he’s truly 15 then it’s against the law but if the said boy is 21 then this will be considered a big error on the part of Uk. The letter shown above dyed that the boy was going to Uk as a donor which is legal. Let’s wait and see what happens. |

Few things to note: The UK police is usually very thorough in their investigations before proceeding to charge a case to court. 1. Was the boy aware he was going to donate a kidney? If he was told he was being taken to the UK for a better life and on getting there, he finds it was to donate his kidney. If this was the case, then it is a case of deceit with an intent to defraud the boy. 2. Some part of the story says the senator was caught at the airport with £20,000 enroute to Turkey. After the UK doctors declined using the boy after he declared he is 15, did the senator decide to move the boy to Turkey for the operation to be performed there? There is an element of criminal intent there. 3. Did the hospital alert the police that an underage boy was being coerced into donating his organ without any parental consent. 4. That boy actually looks like he is 15 going on 16. As long as he has not celebrated his 16th birthday , he is still 15 years old. Providing a letter to the embassy for visa application with a reason for the travel is not the issue. It is the other things surrounding it. Did they show that letter to the boy during the visa application? Was everything shrouded in secrecy with the poor boy left in the dark as to the real reason why the heavens have chosen him for the senator to favour him and carry him abroad to better his life. You can imagine his shock, when he got there only to find out that all the niceness to him was about getting his kidney and not about actually helping him. Lets wait for all the facts to come out when the case is launched in full on July 07. |

tsmith: U WROTE ALOT BUT MISSED THE POINT. THE POINT HERE IS, EKWEREMADU IS NOT A BRITISH CITIZEN OR RESIDENT. HE REQUESTED PERMISSION AND EXPLAINED HIS MISSION IN THE UK. ALL THE STUFF YOU ARE LISTING ARE FOR BRITISH PEOPLE, NOT NIGERIANS. IF BRITAIN DID NOT WANT, THEY COULD HAVE DENIED HIM ENTRY. IF ANYTHING HAPPEN TO EKWEREMADU DAUGHTER, THEIR WILL BE ENOUGH PROBLEM TO GO ROUND ON EVERYBODY DELAYING HIM. E GO MUST TO REACH EVERYBODY. 1 Share
