Can someone please help me out and see if there’s correction needed here?

VO: why sociology?

Me: A degree in sociology will help me gain knowledge in creative marketing and communication skills that are highly demanded in the market. This degree will make me a thought leader in the business force. As I intend to return after graduation to start up my own businesses and secure a spot as a market research analyst, leveraging the skills that I gained during the program.
How is sociology connected to marketing and business? Why not go for a marketing/business degree?

Omo I done see my final cgpa for my B.sc in political science.

I think I have to finish up the conversion with Wes, get my transcript, finish up nysc and then try my best to publish some work.
Then I can get ready for application..

It's 3.62/5.00

But the the gpa is not impressive 😔 especially considering that my course foundation is not very lucrative in the USA like STEM.

So I have to work harder to ensure I get the few available opportunity in my field after graduation 🎓

I read this transcript and it had me genuinely concerned because I am in a similar situation. I have a brother in the US who left on an F1 visa about 4 years ago, and I included his info on my DS-160. I've considered editing it out, however, there is a slight challenge. I was denied an F1 visa last year and the DS-160 I submitted also has my brother's info there.

I am currently date-searching and waiting for my Emergency Appointment to be approved. My concern/questions are: would the new VO have access to my previous DS-160? Is it possible the previous VO might have made a note on this even though it did not come up during the interview?

Please I would truly appreciate thoughts on this.

Thank you so much.

How does the embassy view applications for F1 visas based on a second masters (first masters from the USA) is it allowed?

I need direction please

Most times, it's not so easy to establish the exact reason for a denial. However, when such reason is pointing at you so closely that you are able to identify it, the best thing is to see how best you can use it to your advantage.

Ordinarily, having a sibling legally based in the US shouldn't harm your chances but then approval is subjective to the Visa officer and how well you're able to convince him/her that your intention is not that of an immigrant.

Since you're aware of what might come your way during your interview, the best thing to do now is to prepare for it in the best way possible. Identify the strength of your profile and use it to your advantage. Your sibling must have got what it takes to be legally staying in the US, otherwise he/she would have been out of status and possibly back home. Use that to your advantage.

Edit it out, don’t shoot yourself. Nobody is checking anything, and you will be interviewed based on your current ds-160 information. Consulate also know people’s status changes.

He can't edit that part out because he has gone for an interview before. If the Vo should run a background check on him, they may see the information and it could lead to a ban for him. Like the OP above has said, look fpr ways to answer that question.

Why second master? if you can convincingly answer that question, you are good to go moreover, the best you can do is not to include that information on your ds160 unless you are going for a Ph.D that's when such information is relevant

That is not possible because he has gone to the embassy for the interview. "Only submitted Ds160 in which an applicant has not been interviewed can be edited "

You must convince the VO without any doubt why you are going for another masters in the US. Since you already have a masters degree, why can't you go for a PhD program?
You stand a better chance to get full funding for your PhD program couples with a strong SOP, recommendation letter and other documents.

It depends on your situation. I was recently approved by the same VO (with the earpiece) who interviewed me. I also have a sister on an F1 visa in the same place and state as my school, but she attends a different school. I mentioned my sister in my DS160 form, and the VO asked about her and if she was in the same state as my school. I confirmed that she was (Red Flag, I knew), but I also emphasized that my family business was my main tie to my home country and that my sister would return home after completing her defense this Fall/Spring 2024 to take up a role in the business. When the VO asked if I was sure, I confidently said yes.

Additionally, I had funding with a small deficit. At the end of the interview, the VO smiled and said "Hot brains" (maybe because we are both in Core STEM fields and I had full funding).

My advice is to declare any family members who are on an F1 visa and still in school, but don't provide any additional information about them, such as their address or contact details, or use them as a funding source. Only declare them in the family section.

If your Sibling came to the US with an F1 Visa and married to become a citizen or is currently working on a different Visa, then you might take another approach.

When answering questions, only provide the information that is asked for. If you have something additional to say, ask if you can elaborate or explain further. The VO will let you know if you can.

Don't try to move out of line, as the CGI will likely notice and bring you back to the same position. In my case, the CGI removed a lady from the earpiece man's line and placed me there. Although I was annoyed, I quickly composed myself as I noticed the VO was watching while interviewing another lady.

Like I always say ,its a very terrible thing to judge any Vo , this is not a corrupt organisation where other people would buy slots, its a contest and of course you need to prepare and present accordingly. Its not as difficult ass it seems ,sure luck comes in action sometimes, but don't judge anyone.

Listen to these people at your own peril; having illegally migrated relatives in the US limits your chances of getting approval. Visa officer is not running any background checks, and your interview will base on your current ds-160. The background check can only be done when your application goes into the administrative process, which is on rare occasions. Please make the necessary corrections before hitting the frontline; it’s tough out there

What you are saying is that people’s status don’t change. Even visa officers know that status changes from time to time; what if your relative in the US has relocated or died?

They can only ask questions based on the information you provide. Don’t put what you can’t defend, and don’t allow another man's sin to slow you down

Yes, I saw that 3/4 of the people who were interviewed by the VO with the earpiece were approved by him, while I was on the line. What I noticed was that he knows how to read red flags well and would ask further questions about them. If you don’t defend yourself well, he’ll most likely reject you.

Also, I saw a lot of people confusing confidence with loudness, which can come across as rude. Just stay calm while answering and ask if you don’t understand any of the questions or if you want to talk about something unrelated to the question asked.

Good afternoon house, am new to this platforrm and i will love to be guided on the process from the beginning.
1. Can someone gist me more on biola university?
2. Who can be my sponsor in the affidavit of financial support?
3. If someone use a financial institution offering loan as a means of funding tuition fees, is it not going to be a red flag during the interview?
4. I graduate of Marketing since 2012, went for my youth service in 2014 and i've been working in different companies since 2015. Hope this will not have an effect on my MBA program in 2024?
5. Please, i will like to know the red flag that i need to watch out for during the interview.
Thanks
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by welf99: 2:19pm On Jul 20, 2023
Why is USA and Canada always rejecting students using loan as a proof of fund?
US VO and IRCC doesn't turn down all international students who use students loans as proof of funds. They just turn down applications where the student uses predatory lenders like MPower Financing.

Companies like MPower require you to start making payments 60 days after you receive the money. That means you don't have the first year's tuition plus living expenses. You have to use some of your living expenses that you borrowed to pay MPower back

Reputable student loan providers don't require students to make payments on their student loans until the student has completed their studies. If you have a student loan that requires you start making payments while you are still studying then VO and IRCC may see it as a financial burden that will make working a priority for the student, rather than studying.

I think you don't have strong economic ties in Lithuania or long term residency, nothing compelling enough that will warrant you to return after your visit aside being a student .

You should have applied using a conference in your area of study instead of tourism.
