Let me tell you the main reason Boko Haram was formed by some top Politicians in the North, Boko Haram was formed to get amnesty from the federal government just as amnesty was given to the Niger Delta Militants but it turn up to something else the Politicians can not control them but some of the Politicians are still sponsoring them.
Niger Delta Militants is not mainly formed to get amnesty but to get resource control.
During the President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua 2007 - 2010 tenor as President of Nigeria, He saw that the Militants were are fighting for their rights, so to make everything fair He grant them amnesty which stop them from fighting or carrying guns.
But some Northern elders saw it and envy the amnesty program Umaru Musa Yar'Adua gave to the Niger Delta Militants.
So they (Northern elders) connived with some top Northern politicians to form a group to get the same amnesty program the Niger Delta Militants got from the federal government, Surprisely President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua died so they (Northern elders) keep calm, till It go-to PRESIDENT Goodluck Johnathan's tenor.
The Northern elders ask the newly formed group (Boko Haram) to start their activities by bombing and kill people in the North part of the country. But the bad thing that happened is that the group they formed together was uncontrollable again although some top Northern politicians are still sponsoring them. But it affected the North part of the country Weller than other part, they are now moving from the north to other part of the country.
