THE BURDEN OF PROOF

Fellow OBIdients, as this campaign season heats up, please expect a lot of fake news to be spread against Peter Obi and his supporters.

This is expected because Obi is the front runner and the candidate to beat.

And in politics, if you are behind, the way to try and catch up with the front runner is via negative attacks - try to make the person look bad before the people so you can try and peal off his supporters.

Peter Obi is CLEARLY ahead going into 2023 elections and EVERYONE knows this.

So please expect APC and PDP people to keep lobbing negative attacks against Obi.

But when they do this, remember that the burden of proof of ANY accusation (e.g. Obi is a liar) lies with the one making the accusation!

It is not your job to prove that Obi is not a liar! It is their job to prove that he is! And after they have provided proper evidence supporting their claim, you can then provide counter evidence showing they are wrong.

Do not allow them put you on the defense and ask you to prove an allegation that they made such as to prove that “Obi is NOT a liar” or “Obi is NOT IPOB” or that the “North does not distrust Obi”. It is logical fallacy called “proving a negative”. It is impossible to prove that something does not exist because you will have to have knowledge of everything to know that something does not exist.

So whenever they say “Obi lied about so and so” or “Anambra IGR did not grow under Obi” - do not waste your time bringing up evidence trying to convince them that Obi did not lie. Instead ask them to prove it - let them show evidence of the lie!

They will tell you “go to Google and search”.

Respond with “No sir - you made the allegation, you go to Google and get the evidence and come and show me! And until you do so - this is FAKE NEWS and I do not respond to fake news”

If someone makes a claim, the burden to prove that the claim is true lies with them! It is not your job to prove that the claim is not true - until you have been provided evidence to back up the claim.
