ASUU strike: Having concluded negotiations with the FG, ASUU is prepared to end its strike.

If the Federal Government signs the negotiated agreement to invest in university infrastructure and also agrees to pay salaries through the suggested University Transparency and Accountability Solution, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it is prepared to end the nationwide strike immediately (UTAS).

In an interview with Channels TV on Monday night, Union President Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke revealed this.

.”The Union has concluded its negotiations, he continued, and is now essentially awaiting the government's reaction.

What the ASUU President has to say

According to Prof. Osodeke, the Union works to provide the best education possible for Nigerian students. He said, "What we want for Nigerian children, go around and see, and compare them with Ghana or South Africa and compare them, that is our struggle."

In regards to the strike's potential end date, he stated, "As far as ASUU is concerned, the strike can end tomorrow. We have completed the negotiations. Let the government call us this evening, and we should come tomorrow and sign the deal. We will be there."

We will end the strike once the government notifies us that UTAS has been evaluated and approved.

We have completed (with negotiations). We're just waiting and putting the government to the test. When will they accept UTAS and when will they sign the contract? These are the two inquiries we must make to the Nigerian government, he continued
