Youths are leaders of tomorrow....oh yes! In Nigeria, the reverse is the case. Nigeria has never been divided as seen today. No thanks to the choices we made by ourselves. We vote along ethnic and religious lines, instead of voting right. What do I mean by voting right? It's about putting a square peg in a square hole. It's of my tribe, I'd vote him...is he going to be president of your tribe alone? Of what benefit will your candidate's choice to the masses(you and I who are always at the recruiting end)?. Buhari came and northern Youths were jubilating....it's baba, it's baba. Not only the northern Youths but also in the south west where I hail from. Today, who are the beneficiaries of the baba administration? The elites of course! They give you 5k or 20k max in every election but each time they marry their children out, celebrate their birthdays, do they still remember you? What of when choosing people into their cabinet? They only remember their children and relations. If their children are looking for who to marry, do they choose from among our beautiful girls or handsome boys? Look at the universities today and ask yourselves....did my 2019 vote favour me? If you're a graduate but still being fed by same parents who are supposed to be taken care of by you as a means of giving back, ask yourself...am I enjoying being a Nigerian? Is my vote really worth it? The following companies have left Nigeria since 1999 Dunlop Nigerian Michelin Lever Brothers/Unilever UAC Volkswagen Fiat Solgas Shell Solgas Wilbros Total( about to leave) Etc... Those calling us the leaders of tomorrow have destroyed our economy. The above could have provided hundreds of thousands of jobs alone. Government or pilitics has now become Nigerian industries. Each time I travel abroad and see things happen, I always feel very bad. I see same politicians abroad including governors. I remember one of them seen in Switzerland before covid. I didn't great him. He was just looking at me while I hissed past him and knew why. I was even speaking my local dialect loudly so he ciuld hear me. They have universities in African countries yet, ours back home are on strike. Please my people, we need to fix our country which has been set about 30 years backwards. No single leader today means well for Nigeria. How can you call yourself a leader and yet, you can't lead by example? You keep traveling to UK and France for medical treatment because you've abandoned the hospitals at home. All the food they eat is imported. Travelling on Nigeria road is horrible. They fly on private jets here and there . No emergency centres or hospitals along the highway to rescue accident victims. What of security? They've failed woefully. You and I can tell of the decay in our security architecture today. The masses always bear the brunt. Look at our leaders...they have shared the Discos and Gencos. That's why our power will never work. One of the aspirants owns a Disco in Lagos. GE came to participate in the bidding process but they didn't give them because of the money involved in it. They're after money instead of service. Nigeria of today is giants of Africa only in population. We've lost our strength. Think well on your choice of candidate ahead of 2023. It's in your hands. Shun ethnic and religious bigotry. |
