Dunno why he brought up Las Vegas. Most of the southwest US is comparatively cheap, as far as residential property goes.

Lagos should be compared to NYC, DC, LA, SF as far as property prices go. A city like NYC is a better analogue. Highest population density in Nigeria => sky high property prices

yet many that made a buck or two abroad are quick to want to go back home to build a house.

Please, I take God beg you, make you try HONESTY all the time. Less than 10 years ago, you could still purchase land in the same lagos for about Naira 50,000. Today, the same piece for well over 1 million Naira, and people who lived and grew up in that Lagos now cannot afford their own city/state/towns. That is a CRIME . . . nothing good of that.

as at 2002, houses @ old ikoyi were 40 million naira.
@98, my bro-in-law got his 5 bedroom duplex at 250,000 naira per annum rent @toyin street, ikeja.

onworo of all places to buy a land and it's just one plot contrary to the 50,000 naira you were claiming.
