Having studied a bit of DSA, I could see the usefulness for large user base but most companies barely scale that much. Everybody won't build the next TikTok or Instagram or work in FAANG
The need to reverse a binary tree has never come up in all my jobs and probably never will

What justification does these smaller companies have for such mode of interview

But the game is the game. We have to play by these rules

1. It's a proof that you have problem solving skills.
2. It's a proof that you're comfortable with your programming language
3. Some inefficiency in code can affect even small scale apps drastically.

I second the slack move. I'm also on qt's slack channel and have a private channel there that I haven't started using. Half of the people that come to the programming section are toxic. The other half are looking to get a foreign remote job from information gleaned in the programming sub forum and can leave "those idiots on NL"

nice thread! for me, i'm so laid back with this relocation thing. The only thing that makes me fantasise about relocating is the internet. Our internet is big mess but now that this elon musk's starlink coming to nigeria maybe my internet problem is about to be solved.

If not for anything, do it for your children. Having your kids with a Nigerian only passport is a very serious handicap. I rather not have children than have Nigerian only kids. I despise my parents for making me a Nigerian but theres nothing I can do about it than make sure it doesnt happen to any of my own kids.
