One of the greatest American inventors is the man called Stanley Meyer, even though he is not well known like many other inventors because of his premature death, he had some little impact.

One of his remarkable innovations was when in the 1990's, he came up with a technology that could enable a cell to work by being driven by water instead of fuel. It was this technology that he would later advance into a water driven car.

In 1975, there was a shortage of oil supply in the US after the government of Saudi Arabia cut off the oil supply. The oil prices had escalated to scary levels and some corporations went bankrupt as a result of this.

Engineers and innovators had to think and even come up with ideas that would enable them come up with vehicles that were water powered instead of being gas powered. It was this situation that made Stanley Meyer invent this water driven cell technology.

With this technology, Stanley even made his own car that used water to move and it was working perfectly well. This water fuel cell worked by splitting the water atoms and the hydrogen component of water is then subjected to heat that makes it create energy than enhances motion.

The water powered vehicle is also eco friendly and only oxygen is emitted through the exhaust pipe which is obviously safe to the environment. When Stanley invented this unique vehicle, he publicized the innovation throughout the country including Universities and colleges.

As he innocently went from city to city, he never knew that he would meet lots of opposition who saw the invention as a threat to the fuel market and even the car market. Those who were against him went as far as filling law suits to prevent any further advancement of this technology. At this premature stage of Stanley's invention, nobody knew that this opposition would later lead to his death.

Stanley Meyer was eventually killed on March of 1998 while with his brother at a restaurant. It was a result of food poisoning and he suddenly dropped and started vomiting to death. According to his twin brother who was with him at the time of his death, Stanley's last words were, "they have poisoned meal".

That was when Stanley's invention came to a dead end at a very premature stage. The question that still remains is why would this man be killed yet he had an idea that would have revolutionized the world? Did he really die as a result of cerebral aneurysm as reports would later claim or did he die because he had an idea that threatened many? Those are the questions that history is still asking even years after death.
