Controversy over the Muslim/Muslim ticket adopted by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) continued with a Chieftain of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Hon. Muhammad Rabiu Dantine saying moslems will not have accepted if it happened the other way round.

In a statement, Dantine who is a candidate of his party said that the religious and ethnic diversity of the country must be acknowledged.

He stated that the APC has no regard for Nigerians hence it’s only concern is to win elections at the detriment of the nation’s unity.

He also berated religious leaders supporting the APC because of what they stand to gain.

“After the maim APC has caused to this nation, their dovish and vehement choice of Muslim/Muslim ticket for the forthcoming 2023 general election makes it clear that they are not remorseful and have no regard for Nigerians regardless of religion and ethnicity.

“This is clearly why they’re boldly abusing the ethics.It’s highly disappointing how people keep mute over this simply because it suits their partisan narrative. The most unfortunate and shameful of all is how some religious leaders applaud this questionable act of APC because it could bring bread to their table.

“I’m saying this unequivocally as Muslim no amount of explanations will make me appreciate and applaud a Christian/Christian ticket let’s all stop pretending like we don’t know why every devoted Christian isn’t smiling over this authoritative act of APC

“Nigeria is our only country. The God almighty chose to make us people of different religion and ethnicity, as such we have to live as bound by the nature.
There’s no way we’ll be going for a party that has no regard for Nigerians in general. No sensible Nigerian will vote for APC."

He should have allow Osibanjo or Amaechi to pick the ticket, instead of trying to scatter the already fragile country, coz of his lifetime ambition

This is the truth. Those Muslims that are clapping for Tinubu are the fanatics animals that see nothing wrong if Nigeria is divided.
Muslims will never agree for a Christian Christian ticket.
I am in the north and I know how religion diversity is practiced in the north. The number one reason for a Muslim to vote for you is if you are a Muslim, iam surprised that some people will come here to tell us that we should not bring religion sentiment, while Tinubu himself made his decision of picking shettima based on religion.
Any Christian that respect his religion will never dream of voting a Muslim Muslims ticket.

nothing but the truth. But just ask Tinubu why wouldn't him win with a northern Christian? The answer is religion!
So why are they telling us to stop talking about religion instead of competency.
The Muslims sees Christians as mumu,they use religion to select their candidates but they will tell you not to use religion to vote.
Only a useless Christian who is been cursed by his ancestors will vote for a Muslim Muslims ticket.
