NNPC Quietly Approves Petrol Pump Price Hike To ₦179/Litre by Warlord12(m): 7:30am On Jul 19, 2022
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has approved an upward review in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N165 per litre to N179 per litre, effective today (Tuesday).

NNPC in a notice to fuel marketers directed them to change the petrol price on pumps to the new price effective today. This was even as the company equally increased the ex-depot price from N148.17 to N167 per litre.

This came after weeks of petrol scarcity resurfaced across the country as fuel retailers were adopting different price bands to force unofficial deregulation attempts.

Already, majority of filling stations in Lagos have adopted different price models. While some filling stations have changed the price on their meters to reflect the current price they are selling at, others have left theirs to show the approved retail price of N165 per litre but were selling above the displayed price.

For instance, the Mobil filling station on Agidingbi sold a litre of petrol at N170 per litre on Friday and that was evidently displayed on their meters.

The development was also the same at Enyo filling station at Chisco bus stop, in Lekki, which now sells for N170 per litre, Eterna filling station at Jankade bus stop, Lekki sells at N180 per litre and Mobil Filing station, by Osapa London, Lekki now selling at N170 per litre.

More hardship for the masses. What positive impact have APC made on the lives of ordinary Nigerians since they assumed power?

Our students have been at home for over 5 months now, the security situation in the country is terrifying, the common masses can barely feed once a day, what on earth have these !diots been doing the past 7 years?

Nigerians protested against police brutality you sent soldiers to shoot at them, you locked down the country and hid palliatives from us, and you still have the effrontery to ask for our votes?

APC should be begging for our forgiveness not asking for our votes. Nigerians rise up and take back your country from these drug smugglers and Boko Haram terrorists! Enough is enough!

The same useless fools that have continually claimed Nigerians were simply panick buying in the face of glaring scarcity and long queues. The same ediots that warned marketers from increasing time and time again even wen marketers clearly couldn't sell at the old price. The same useless ediots who claimed they had enough petrol product in stock to last Nigerians a lifetime. How do U exonerate the Clueless one from this failure considering he is the Monister of Petroleum

It's very sad. The fact that this is happening in an oil producing country makes me worried.

More reason why we need to vote LP come 2023.

"Quietly," meaning without making noise, they increased it? That's how Buhari will quietly sell Nigeria to Chad.

This is a government of fraud and deceit
Why the quiet increment

APC is just ashamed of itself

And they are still paying subsidy more than triple what Jonathan paid

I suspect that they are just raising money for vote buying for the 2023 elections

I have never seen a party so evil
And yet they still have supporters. Chai.

I’ve got nothing else to say except, I can’t wait for this administration to just do and go! I remember when Fashola was pontificating on tv that year about how fuel being sold at N87 was corruption at work on poor Nigerians. All the explanations he gave on how PMS should have been sold at N45 were instantly denied immediately their Muslim brotherhood party came into power. Somewhere in this party’s manifesto, there must be a paragraph that outlines their intent to punish all Nigerians for ever believing in them!

Something that is been sold for #200+ since November last year over here....
Can't even remember the last time I bought it for less than #200 in any filling station apart from the NNPC ones.
