I was promised N100,000 by Tinubu, but only received N40,000 – Fake Catholic Bishop

Kashim Shettima was publicly introduced as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by one of the phony bishops who was reportedly employed by Bola Tinubu’s campaign. The fake bishop described how he was compensated for the appearance.

In order to receive N100,000 for the dubious task, Mr. Tinubu’s hirelings allegedly disregarded a mutual agreement, according to the imposter, who identified himself to Peoples Gazette as Joseph Odaudu.

They promised to give me N100,000 when they met us in the parking lot behind Eagle Square. Soon after the ceremony on Wednesday in Abuja, Mr. Odaudu informed The Gazette that “they bought lunch for us and took us to another site where they provided us clothes to dress like Christian leaders and reverend dads.”

“However, when we were done, they only gave me N40,000, and another individual reported receiving N30,000. Given that they claimed to have N100,000 for us, I don’t understand why they amended our agreement.

He continued, “I am a Christian and I support Tinubu, but I despise when people lie and break their commitments.

When contacted for comment, Mr. Tinubu’s campaign’s spokesperson did not respond right away, StechiteGist Media gathered.

In spite of harsh criticism from the Christian community and national opinion leaders, the phony bishops dressed in cassocks appeared to give Christian voters the impression that Mr. Tinubu’s choice of a Muslim northerner as his running partner for the 2023 general election was good for the nation.

The Catholic Church denied having any representation at the event and referred to those who attended as “impostors” in a statement to The Gazette. The event was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

When questioned about whether he was aware that it was unlawful to pose as a Catholic bishop, Mr. Odaudu asserted he had broken no laws.

No laws were committed; we merely wanted to demonstrate to Nigerians that Christians support Asiwaju Tinubu wholeheartedly, he continued.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had voiced its opposition to the All Progressives Congress’s governing decision to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 election and kicked against the move.

Additionally, following protests and harsh condemnation from Nigerians, Christian leaders in the APC have repeatedly warned that the same religion ticket would spell disaster for the party.
