The question is what is your main motive? If its your girlfriend, then you are likely going to continue eventually. What happens if for some other reason you two break up? she'll no longer be there to breath down your head about drinking, and at that point you'll have all the freedom in the world to drink yourself to stupor. If you are going to stop drinking, let it be because you now realise the implications it has both physically and spiritually.

The first step is to decide (for the right reason). Don't want to get too religious here but the truth is you really need to pray about this. get someone around you that's responsible and obviously doesn't drink to be accountable to. this person would monitor you from time to time and remind you whenever you pick a bottle. If possible paste your new resolution on the walls in your room as a constant reminder and tell everybody around you. Being successful with your new resolution may involve changing your friends.

Note that its going to be very rough, and would take time to get used to, but think about the immense benefits you'll get from this in the long run. All the best

Well, if you try to stop drinking just like that, it might be a bit difficult. The way to go about it is to see yourself differently. Reprogram your mind. See yourself as a non-drinker. Don't force it. Every time the urge to consume alcohol comes, say to urself, 'I am not a drinker' I hate alcohol. If you can't avoid it, and you fall, it's ok, Still continue to rewire your mind. After a while, you will look back and notice you haven't drank in a long time.

Now that's one way to go about it. The second way is to be genuinely born again, Accepting Jesus a ur saviour. confess your sins and fosake them. The help of the holy spirit is required in this regard. This was how I quit smoking and drinking. Within 2 days, I noticed I didn't have appetite for any of them. I have been free for years now. The problem with No 2 is that that power to quit alcohol that you receive is like an anti virus program that deletes both own files and viruses. That power will also kill the lovelust you have for the girl.

I believe alcohol if consumed in moderation is not bad but your situation where you cant go over 4hrs without it is really serious. Please consult a psycho specialist. It will work if you want to stop because you feel it's getting out of hand but not because someone (a lady) says so. I am afraid if this woman gets out of your life you may go back to this addiction.

Who says drinking ain't good ehn all you need to do is reduce the way you consume liquor but don't ever stop drinking , even the bible confirms it " Drink and forget your sorrows and remember your troubles no more " the bible even says that "give wine/beer to a man that is sad and laden with sorrow " proverb 26 . my friend. I dont know you but i want you to know some stuff. Most people drinking because there is this vast region of empty space in them they are trying to fill. It is often created by a lack of purpose or no sense of direction. Friend d girl loves you and want you to be that person God wants you to be. Go met jesus he is the only person that can help. All me this counsel are just the foundation for the next course of action. Find you purpose in christ and your life will take a new shape. What it took you to get that girl. Get christ with it and you wont regret. Check proverbs 31us 4- 7.
