[size=14pt] Hasten to break the fast and become the dearest slave of Allah :[/size] SahI ibn Sad reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “The people will not cease to prosper as long as they hasten to break the fast”. [Ahmed22868, Bukhari 1957, Muslim 1098, Ibn e Majah 1957] Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger said that Allah, the Glorious, the Majestic, said : The dearest of My slaves [/b]to Me is [b]he who hastens to break his fast." [Ahmed8368] [size=14pt]Always break Fast with Dates if available, if not then dried dates, if not then water:[/size] Sayyidina Anas ibn Maalik (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) used to break his fast before praying (on eid ul-Fitr) with a few fresh dates, or if that was not possible then with some dry dates, or if there were not any then with a few sips of water. [Abu Dawud 2356] [size=14pt] Please do not skip pre-dawn meal, there is blessing in it:[/size] Sayyidina Anas ibn Maalik (RA) reported the Prophet (SAW) as saying, “Partake of the predawn meal, for there is[b] blessing [/b]in it”. [Ahmed11950, Bukhari 1923, Muslim 1095, Nisai 2142] [size=14pt]If financially possible, try to sponsor a days iftar in the local Mosque and gain an equivalent reward of the fasting person. [/size] Sayyidina Zayd ibn Khalid Juhanni reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If anyone gives to a person who is fasting something with which [b]to break his fast [/b]then for him is [b]an equivalent reward [/b]without the least being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” [Ahmed17030, Ibn e Majah 1746] |

This Ramadan, let's try to do everything we do for the sake of Allah. So even those simple house chores like cooking dinner, cleaning your room, smiling and talking with your family members, taking out the garbage, etc, if you do them with the correct intention and you objective is to please Allah, then you will be rewarded for them, insha'Allah |

One of the best dua’s that can be recited on Laylat al-Qadr is that which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her). It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi, who classed it as saheeh, that ‘A’ishah said: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, If I know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say?” He said: “Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are All-Forgiving and You love forgiveness so forgive me).'' |
