What has your experience been with them? I didn't expect a native Canadian to be that manipulative but I guess all nations have their bad eggs.

cooooooks:
Lol.

A native Canadian can be bad too.

Now that I'm PR, I may sue a native Canadian lawyer.

Since I've seen some comments here about working illegally, I just thought that I should share this.

Sometimes, IRCC won't inform the student that they know about a violation. They will wait until the student applies for PGWP before denying them and telling them that they know about the violation. I've seen cases where people got denied of a PGWP for working over 20 hours one time. Just be careful.

Some students resort to cash payments to not get caught, but if someone reports you, you're in trouble. Why take the risk?

What I found out is the IRCC will deduct the time you overworked. So if you did an 18 month course, instead of giving you an 18 month PGWP, they'll give you 6 months. grin

We should all work in a desired field. So that way, you get PR immediately.

Wow…where did you see this info grin

Damn that's scary. With a 6 month PGWP, it's really hard to get PR right? An 18 month course is meant to give you a 3 year PGWP.

You can't even include the hours you worked as a student when applying for PR. And the CEC pathway requires at least 1 year of Canadian work experience.

How do people who get 6 month PGWP get PR? Is it even possible?

I don’t think it’s possible.

An IRCC seminar/webinar.

They usually have seminars across the country, at various schools.

You cannot judge the nation based on one experience.

In my case, the guy was basically depressed. His depression and noncomunication pushed things back a whole 12 months. In that time, h

Then he came and was redoing the work for "free". However, midway, he went incommunicado again. So, as I had always done before this experience, I handled the application myself.

I wanted to sue him, but decided against it...until I become PR. I did file a complaint to the bar, but every 3 months, they send email me saying they are "investigating". I believe they are just hoping I don't pursue it.

Extension extension extension.

New work permit application.

Now that there is a lack of workers, they are offering automatic extensions till 2024.

If one person can do that, it's possible that there are other immigration lawyers who do the same. Of course not all, but some or few others.

Your lawyer was depressed? Wow. I think he should've held himself accountable though. He shouldn't have taken on your case since he knew that he wasn't in a good place.

But how common is mental health issues among Canadians? I've been watching a lot of Canadian documentaries these days. They seem to have a really bad mental health crisis and drug problem.

What does "anything" include? Apart from working illegally, what else could we be reported for?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by cooooooks(m): 6:43am On Sep 18, 2022
There can be fraud...that is why Canada tries to make the applications have NO need for a lawyer or agent.

I'll also point out that this lawyer actually grew up in Nigeria (yes, he's white). His dad was a Prof at College of Ibadan in the 60s. Dad is still alive.

Extensions currently, are because:

- there is a huge backlog of millions of applications
- there is a huge lack of workers...so why not allow those already working in the country to continue working.

bepositive11:
I thought the extensions were because of covid.

It's good that Canada has made the application process easy, but lawyers are sadly still needed in some situations.

That makes your situation harder to judge. I wonder if his Nigerian influence had something to do with it. Anyway, I hope it all works out for you.

Sadly ke, Abeg o. Just have a contemporary perspective, it’s uncommon in nigeria to have a lawyer except you're in a crime that requires litigation but abroad you go get lawyer (crime or not). So lawyers aren’t sadly needed, in many cases abroad they’re essential and there are checks and balances in place.
By the way, not all immigration consultants are lawyers, to be an RCIC doesn't require a law degree, it's a separate diploma anyone can study for and be licensed in once you meet the requisite requirements.

It was stated we did not receive your required medical result and this even caused a refusal. And the refusal state----You have not complied with our request for information, per subsection 16(1.1) of the IRPA. To date, you have failed to comply with our request for an examination.

And the medical was done submitted by iom and i also submited the medical myself through webform. It hurts oo

Good morning All

Please I need advice.
I got my admission deferment letter since my study permit is taking too long.

Should I upload it through webform or just leave things the way they are?

Is there any consequences if I choose not to update my IRCC profile with the deferment

There is a thriving Nigerian community at MUN.

I hope you study well (there is a party culture in a way) and score good grades.

It is possible to fund the remainder of your studies there. If you don't need to, might be better off focusing on campus life.

If you need more info on NL, holla.
