Opinion Corner: FG Buys 1.4 Billion Security Vehicles For the Niger Republic To Tackle Insecurity

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, confirms that the Federal Government Of Nigeria purchased N1.4Billion Vehicles for the Niger Republic to tackle insecurity. In her words, she said 'even though Nigerians have the right to question, President Muhammadu Buhari, who approved the purchase also has the right to make his own assessment on situations and act accordingly.'

This assessment by the president is outrageous at this time, as ASUU is on strike due to payment of outstanding salary, keresene is N800 per litre, the country is in debt and insecurity is the order of the day in Nigeria! Why then would the President purchase such when the country he is ruling is in dilemna. Also if Nigeria wants to be the big brother to other African countries, why didn't the cars get purchased from Nigerian car manufacturers.
