The money required to show was about £22,000 but money in the account was about £9,000. They didn’t even ask for extra documents, they just refused
why was insufficient money in the account? please clarify

I just received Teesside University September offer today MSc public health ( 2 years program 18k pounds.. 9k pounds per year) with 5k pounds initial deposit. I also received University of Sunderland offer same MSc public health but university of Sunderland is one year program(15 k pounds) with initial deposit of 3,500 and to pay more 4k b4 enrolment. Am so so confused now on which one to follow.. My people pls advice me on which one to follow between University of Sunderland (one year program) and Teesside University (2 years program).. If possible pls advice me with reasons for preference.. Pls I will be going with one dependant (my wife)

My little advice.

1. Do you have the cost for both deposits? if so move to 2 if not choose the one with a lesser cost
2. What is the balance payment plan Like ?.....choose the one that favors you if it aligns with your cost budget above
3. What are your future Plans .... Studying and leaving the UK or studying to work if studying to work or settling for one year is better if u have a good budget to accommodate since a study visa does not lead to settling unless you switch.
4. If you are fully aware of 1 to 3 above other things to consider are location, accommodation, job opportunities, and community.

Best of Luck . Most times cost may be a major decider but in most instances, future plans overrule all.

After you provided the said documents, it took them how many days or week to respond to you on their decision?

What day did you pay ihs and visa fees and what date duration is the bank statement you initially submitted from?

Dear dduchess90, I want to specially say thank you to you for all your efforts in alleviating prospective applicants' problems on this platform.

I also want to say thank you to everyone that has contributed in one way or another in giving meaningful responses to tons of enquiries on how to go about the whole UKVISA thing.

I got my BRP email this morning and my document has been transferred to VAC.

Once again, I deeply appreciate your efforts.

1 = YES

2 = Teesside University balance payment plan is more better.

3 = studying to work and remain in the UK

If you are close to lagos, i will suggest you go to TLS Ikj with this mail and documents. This happened to a friend in sept intake. He went to TLS and raise dust armed with a copy of the email he got to go to the TLS. The TLS escalated his case and he got collection mail within 3days. 6weeks after one of the dependants got her passport back. Worth a try

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

You could try speaking to the VAC in Lagos-Ikeja directly and ask them if they can release your passport. We do not have the contact numbers for this.
I got this mail now. I sent a mail yesterday and was told to wait till 20th but I complained have been getting same automated message.omor its annoying.

POE Alert!!!

My MA just passed the POE at Heathrow London at 9.15 am Nigerian time after landing 2 hours before due to the crowd.
The conversation below as described in her WhatsApp chat

officer: Hello Good Morning
MA: Good Morning
Officer: Please drop your passport
MA: Drops Passport
officer: Where are you coming from?
MA: Nigeria
Officer: No...I mean where is your Flight coming from?
MA: Oh! Nairobi Kenya connecting flight
Officer:OK so Why are you here
MA: I am here for my Masters's Programme
Officer: What Course and Which School?
MA: MSc Management Bloomsbury Institute London ...
Officer: Which Degree did you acquire for your undergraduate?
MA: BA Horticulture
Officer: Flowers and Plants?
MA: Yesssss(thinking that was all then....)
Officer: Can you Mention the botanical names of some plants?
MA: looks surprised but answers with You Say?
Officer: Can you ...(pause and resumes)Give me the botanical name of four plants
MA: ......Ermmmmmmm blows air out and Ermmmmm Rose...Rosa. mmmm Spinach ......Lactuca Sativur...sativa .....mmmmmmm Onion.....Alium Cepa ermmmmmm

MA: Ermm from the Sun also from water, from carbon dioxide from the air, and microorganisms from the Soil
Officer: OK Stamps passport hands it over you can Go

It was a really off-guard question hence why I Brought it here to share. Apparently all we rehearsed before she left like accommodation, how are you funding, what are you doing back in Nigeria, and all other personal stuff dint come out

The lesson here is: Be prepared for anything as well as learn from others' experiences as much as you can get.

Hi Adewale,

I hope your issue gets resolved soon.
From all that you've said, I can't see any issue here. But remember that case workers are humans and the make mistakes and have their own biases even though there are policies they should be guided by.
Now, technically, because she's had previous refusals, she would have been tagged as high risks - the question for them is, were those previous refusals warranted/legitimate.
I'm sure you would be fine.
What I would do in your case is to call them as many times as possible, send as many mails as possible until you get the answer you want. Another thing I will do is to barrage them beyond reasonable doubt that the child in question is indeed my child - ie provide as many documents as you can get beyond birth certificate. School correspondence addressed to either of the parents, pictures, hospital appointments from very early age, immunisation documents if you still have them.

Best of luck.

@dduchess90 and the team, thanks for all you do

Could you help look into this for your advise

We have a daughter that's in University outside of Nigeria, she is 17, she was denied UK visit visa twice because ECO states that he doesn't believe she is going on a visit

Her siblings have had UK and Schenghen visas

They were all dependents in our application, but she submitted her application from her base, while we did ours from Nigeria just with a day difference (hers was earlier)

MA has arrived UK while the others are planning to join soon but she alone doesn't have her decision made yet

We did a paid mail and were told that it will be escalated

Please what could be the issue that only her is having this issue (she also didn't do TB test cos it is not a requirement where she is based

Also, can we touch our POF? Applications were submitted since 21st December and everyone else have a decision except her

Should we still leave the POF, pending when ger decision is made?

Your wealth of experience in shedding a light on this will be appreciated

Hi, there are a few factors to consider but I'll list some of them and then you can do the consideration.

1. A 2yr course means that you'll be on 20hrs work restriction for 2 years during term time
2. There's a tuition fee gap between both schools. It might be small but its something.
3. Consider cost of living for the two cities
4. what's your wider family plan? and how does being a student for 2years (or 1 year) affect that?

Hi Gurus, please I need advice on my application. I did my UK biometric on the 6th of January, 2023 at the TLS office in Abuja. I got a mail on the 9th of January, 2023, 3 working days after that my travelling document is available for pick up. It also states that I will receive a subsequent tracking mail since I opted for the courier service. First of all, I'm worried. How did at least 3 weeks turn into 3 days? As for the courier, I got the tracking number from DHL when I called but my status only shows "Dispatch information to DHL"

Maybe I need to add that my Visa status is yet to be checked for VAC transfer or receive and I didn't get any mail before the collection notification. I applied as a dependent for a tier 2 visa. I will appreciate your input. Thank you

Back with good news.

UK Application: 1st January 2023
Biometric: 6th January 2023 (TLS Abuja)(Standard)
TLS document pick-up mail: 16th January 2023
Success mail from UKVI- 19th January 2023, Visa dated to 13th.
DHL Dispatch: Still in transit since the 16th.

This came earlier than expected. I hope it gives someone some level of hope.
