A CALL FOR 'SAVE OUR SOUL PROTEST' BY FISH FARMERS!

High cost of diesel and petrol.
Extremely rapid and frequent rising cost of fish feed..
Worsening power situation...
Rising Insecurity....
Massive corruption....
Massive depreciation of the naira against the dollar.....
Lack of a 'price regulatory body'....
And lots more...
has finally sent the fish industry into a coma, because the hyperinflation has failed to reflect in the sale price of fish especially catfish!
All thanks to our major buyers (the market women).....
Thousands of fish farms have closed and thousands more are on the verge of closing.
Many self employed have become jobless and many more will or might soon be including me...

OUR ONE DEMAND THAT COSTS NOTHING!

The government across the federation should as a matter of urgency set up a price regulatory body that will henceforth determine the price of fish, especially catfish.
Price must at all times be reflective of the slightest change (upward/downward) on any of the major factors of our production costs which bothers mainly on;
1. power/diesel/fuel
2. Feed
3. Man hours.

I hereby call on all fish farmers, fish sellers, fish consumers and well meaning Nigerians to kindly change their profile picture/DP to a picture of a dead fish (big or small) as a way of showing the present state of the industry.
Like, share/retweet and tag relevant persons/agencies and EVERY GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL until this post reaches the relevant authorities!
We are using this protest to officially launch our page @Farm Advocates on Facebook which is be dedicated to fighting for the betterment of Farmers, cos it all begins with us!
Kindly like and follow our page to encourage us. And we promise you more explosive packages.
