Looking for a phone to buy and decided to order from Jumia since I and few friends of mine have bought from the store before.

I wanted buying Xiaomi Redmi note 11(around 104k on jumia) then decided to pick one tagged "shipped from abroad( phone 56k plus delivery fee 34k) which looks cheaper.

Luckily, as I was about to pay, I had a change of heart and decided to go ask for the price in the market first.
Hours later, coming back to order the phone on jumia, it has been changed from "Xiaomi Redmi Note 11" to "Xiaomi Redmi Note USB-C Fast Charging Cable" with the same price!

My guess is the seller thought I ordered then changed it to charger on Jumia.
I would've spent over 90k on a USB fast charger.

I didn't make a screenshot of the phone before.

How can I report this potential fraud?

If I hadn't paused at the last point of making payment, it would've been premium tears for me.

With shipped from abroad goods....u will lose shipping fee if the goods have been dispatched or fully delivered.....

mostly... jumia always update their tracker to "shipped" a few minutes after you complete your order.....so OP will likely lose shipping fee if he had gone ahead with the transaction.

Nah, If he did buy it and receive it, he won't be refunded, cause he ordered a charger and got a working charger without issues technically.
They'll tag it his fault for not reading the description properly
NOTE: it's a global item, not local.
The best case is if atall they hear his appeal, he won't be refunded the shipping and custom fees.

You can return a local item(Nigeria) if you don't like it
You can't return a global item(Abroad) cause you don't like it.

If he ordered the first time it would have been a phone. Besides, if it was his first order, a Jumia agent will call him to confirm his order before shipment.

I experienced this recently... The seller was supposed to package two items in a box...but packed one...whereas i paid for the price of two. They picked it up the following day and paid back my money in full..

the vendors on Jumia are not reliable and sometimes put pictures up which are not in anyway what the products that would be delivered would look like,maybe just a concept deceiving you to order
I recently order a cloth from Jumia which had been sitting in my saved for a while and i was highly disappointed,I’ve never felt that way with anything I have ordered from that site especially since I make my research before ordering
When it arrived,it looked nothing like what was displayed on their site plus it wasn’t my size.Luckily they now have a return policy and within 5 minutes of delivery I applied for a return and refund and their customer care called me several times asking if it has been picked up and the likes even when the pickup agent refused to show up ,if not for those calls i probably would have thought the pickup agent refusing to show up was planned,they even called to correct my bank details

You can't buy something, say you don't like it, and then tell seller or jumia to handle return shipping while they refund your initial purchase amount plus your shipping.

If jumia always handle returns from buyers remorse, I'm sure no one would ever be complaining of getting a low quality or fake item.

You can create a virtual card and destroy it after each use. They cost 200N per card.

To avoid stories that touch, I mostly use Jumia just as a market survey to know the price range and specs of what I want to buy. After that, I carry my cash to the market myself and buy what I want.
