Our government should start doing better in building proper drainages at least to ease this kind of situation. If you fail to make way for flood, it will surely make way for it self in a very dangerous way. Let our government learn to be proactive. This is so sad.

The affected communities lies in a flood plane. An area could experience flooding, even if it didn't rain there.

Northern Nigeria has a very large landmass with so many rivers(though dry during the dry season). This rivers serves as water collectors during the rainy seasons and are tributries to other rivers.

So when ever there is a heavy down pour, this rivers conglomerate, leading to flooding.

I thought the same way before going to south for my work. During rainy season North experiences heavier down fall than south but south recieve longer rainfall at a time than North.
Everything in the north is too much from rainfall, wind, fog to cold and hot weather.
