Look, if you want schools to run well, fees have to go up.

Keeping them low may win political points but keeps universities underfunded.

If you want to blast Obi or tinubu about anything, do so. But if they increased fees in the past it was a sensible decision

Universities cost money. Anyone reducing fees of university is not helping students long term because he or she is keeping the universities chronically underfunded

For what is worth, all Lagos Governors are independent in affairs of governance. The GAC runs the party affairs while the Governor runs the administrative affairs.

Asiwaju Tinubu was smart is leaving the fees at N25,000.00 because he has a Socialist mindset. If he could even make LASU free back then, he will have done it. However, Fashola had some capitalist tendencies and was inclined to increase the fees to make LASU very competitive with Private Universities.

When became clear that the policy will affect the election in 2015, Fashola had to revert to previous status quo.
